In his civil complaint, Joseph Manzaro alleges that after being drugged and transported against his will to a supposed Sean “Diddy” Combs “freak-off” party in Miami in April 2015, he was first brought into the back of a property he says belonged to Gloria and Emilio Estefan. According to the suit, Gloria witnessed his disoriented and deteriorating state and urgently called for medical help before Emilio intervened and ushered her away. Manzaro also noted that he was transported via tunnel through the Estefans’ estate on Miami’s Star Island.

Gloria claimed she never concerned herself too heavily with the lawsuit. While speaking to TMZ, she laughed off the idea that she and Emilio have a secret tunnel on their property. She also called the story a “fantasy.”

Emilio mentioned that he and Gloria are considering legal action against Manzaro.

“Listen, I’m so glad they threw the whole thing out of the court, because it was ridiculous,” Emilio said. “No. 1, … we [were not] in Miami. We [were here] in New York.”

As for the lawsuit, Emilio noted that it was mainly about protecting their children from hurt.

“We’re going to have to [file] a lawsuit against them because, you know, we work hard to develop a reputation for many years,” he continued. “We have a family, and it hurts the kids sometimes, what they hear.”

While speaking to People en Español in 2019, Gloria reflected on her relationship with her kids. “I love the relationship we have now that they are adults,” she said.

Gloria Estefan defended Sean “Diddy” Combs’ character before his trial began.

“Nothing happened at my house, ever, ever,” she explained to TMZ at the time, according to Vibe. “So I just hope he gets in front of this, and it’s finally over for him.”

“That guy is not well in the head,” she continued, referencing Joseph Manzaro. “If you look at his history, he’s just throwing everybody in. Diddy was a neighbor. He was always very kind to us, and his mom …. But we never were in his house or him in ours.”
