Hailey Bieber has achieved a significant milestone in her entrepreneurial journey with the sale of her skincare brand, Rhode, to e.l.f. Beauty in a deal valued at up to $1 billion. This move marks a pivotal moment in the beauty industry, highlighting the growing influence of celebrity-founded brands and their potential for substantial business success. Unfortunately, Hailey’s huge deal has once again been overshadowed by Justin Bieber’s support for a controversial music star. Here’s what’s going on and the pattern we can’t ignore.

Justin Bieber’s support of Chris Brown might’ve overshadowed Hailey Bieber’s Rhode deal

Hailey Bieber just pulled off the ultimate beauty boss move — selling her skincare line, Rhode, in a jaw-dropping deal reportedly worth up to $1 billion. The model-turned-mogul launched Rhode in 2022, and in just a few short years, it became a Gen Z favorite thanks to its viral lip treatments and minimalist packaging. Now, beauty giant e.l.f. is scooping it up, but Hailey’s not going anywhere. She’s staying on as Chief Creative Officer, making sure her signature glow stays at the heart of the brand.

This massive payday for Hailey is certainly something to celebrate in the Bieber household. Unfortunately, all eyes are back on Justin Bieber after he showed his undying loyalty to fellow musician Chris Brown. Brown made bail after his arrest in May 2025 for allegedly causing grievous bodily harm following an alleged assault in February 2023. Because of Brown’s bail, he can start his planned “Breezy Bowl XX World Tour.”

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Justin showed his support for Brown on his Instagram Stories. He uploaded a video of himself at the Gozzer Ranch in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, along with some friends. They listened to Brown’s 2019 song “Indigo.”

“Welcome home swaglordddddd,” Justin captioned the clip, according to The Mirror US.

Justin’s support of Brown turned heads due to Brown’s controversial past. Brown’s 2025 arrest adds to a long list of legal issues dating back to his 2009 felony assault conviction involving then-girlfriend Rihanna. Other notable incidents include a 2013 assault charge in Washington, D.C., a 2016 standoff with Los Angeles police, and a 2022 rape accusation in Miami, which was later dismissed.

Justin Bieber seemed to have learned his lesson after his viral Vogue comment

Justin Bieber isn’t trying to eclipse Hailey Bieber’s huge moments. However, he had another blunder recently when it came to her Vogue cover.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Justin revealed a past argument with his wife, Hailey Bieber, during which he told her she would “never be on the cover of Vogue.” He admitted the comment was “so mean,” explaining it stemmed from feeling “disrespected” during the disagreement. Justin acknowledged the immaturity of his actions, stating, “I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even.” He concluded the post by apologizing, saying, “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken [sic].”

Justin’s comment, while well-intentioned, didn’t go over well with fans. Bieber followers no longer focused on Hailey’s Vogue cover. Instead, all they could discuss was Justin’s candid caption that revealed the inner workings of his romance.

Thankfully, he seemed to have learned his lesson. After Hailey’s Rhode deal, he posted a photo of her in a business suit to his Instagram — and he chose not to include any caption.

The pop star finally released a comment on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs that also garnered attention

All eyes are on Sean “Diddy” Combs as his trial continues. After Combs’ initial arrest, fans wondered if Justin Bieber would get dragged into the case. Justin infamously spent time with Combs during his teen years. A spokesperson finally released a statement on Justin’s behalf in May 2025.

“Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the spokesperson noted in a statement obtained by People. “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”

Justin’s response to Combs’ case garnered significant media attention. And, again, it might’ve briefly stolen Hailey’s thunder as she worked behind the scenes for a Vogue feature and a killer Rhode deal.

Thankfully, the couple seems happy to support each other in every possible way. While the media continues to scrutinize their romance, they have no trouble proving the haters wrong.
