Halle Berry and Van Hunt have quietly become one of Hollywood’s most refreshingly authentic couples. Since going public with their relationship in 2020, the Oscar-winning actress and the Grammy-winning musician have shared glimpses of their love through playful social media posts, red carpet appearances, and heartfelt interviews. Their bond, marked by mutual respect, creativity, and a shared sense of humor, offers a mature and grounded take on celebrity romance — one that fans have quickly come to admire. Despite Berry not yet accepting Hunt’s engagement, she reportedly believes he’s her “soulmate.” Here’s what a source alleged.

Halle Berry allegedly sees herself with Van Hunt for the long haul despite not yet accepting his engagement

Despite their strong bond and public displays of affection, Halle Berry has reportedly not yet accepted a marriage proposal from her longtime partner, Van Hunt. According to sources close to the couple, Berry, who has been candid about the lessons learned from her past marriages, expressed that while she deeply loves Hunt, she doesn’t feel the need to formalize their relationship with a legal commitment. Instead, she’s embraced a more personal definition of partnership — one rooted in emotional connection, mutual respect, and shared growth, without the pressures of traditional expectations.

A source told In Touch Weekly that despite Berry’s nontraditional path to partnership, the actress is all in with Hunt. “Halle says Van is her soulmate,” the insider alleged. “She’s 100% sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Before meeting Van, she swore off ever getting married again; she was so disillusioned with men and with the whole ‘fairytale ending’ fantasy. But then she met Van, and she opened up her heart again, and the truth is, she does feel like he is her happy ending — the one she was meant to be with all along.”

The source noted that Berry doesn’t feel “shame” when looking at her past failed marriages. And she no longer cares what others think about her current relationship. “In her past relationships, things moved very quickly, passion was the name of the game, but with Van, it all went much slower,” the source added. “The passion is there for sure. They’re still wildly attracted to each other, but it’s a much deeper love than just physical attraction.”

The award-winning actress previously called Van Hunt her ‘person’ in a video

Halle Berry is clearly very in love with Van Hunt. She posted a video about her favorite drinks, and she couldn’t help but gush about her spectacular boyfriend, whom she calls her “person.”

“As you might know, I have a boyfriend,” Berry says, according to the clip shared by DailyMail.com. “Finally. I have a really good boyfriend. I have my person. So, when you find your person, you like to try to find things that you can enjoy together. So, one of the things that we discovered that we enjoy doing together is drinking wine and sipping bourbon.”

Berry went on to describe a cocktail company she tried (and ultimately teamed up with) that had drinks that vastly improved her “bourbon-sipping experience.”

Rumors have swirled around Halle Berry and her failed marriages. The Oscar-winning actress has been married three times. First, she married baseball player David Justice in the mid-1990s. Then, she tied the knot with singer Eric Benét. Third, she married French actor Olivier Martinez, with whom she shares a son. Each relationship unfolded under the public eye, often shadowed by personal struggles and emotional challenges. Berry has since spoken candidly about the emotional toll of those experiences, using them as catalysts for growth and self-discovery.

While visiting The Drew Barrymore Show, Berry addressed the rumors that she “can’t keep a man.”

“I’ve heard people say, ‘Oh, something must be wrong with Halle Berry. She can’t keep a man,'” Berry said on the talk show. “Who’s to say I want to keep a man? I don’t want to keep the wrong man! I’m not crazy. So, when you find that you make a mistake — we all mistakes — we have a right to say, ‘Oh, God. This was a mistake.’ We have a right to do that.”
