Trippie Redd is known for his melodic rap, rock, trap, and emotionally charged vocals which made him one of the more prominent artists to emerge from the late-2010s SoundCloud rap movement. But now it’s not just his music but his house that has people talking.

Michael Lamar White II, known by his stage name Trippie Redd, was born on June 18, 1999, in Canton, Ohio. He began releasing music as a teenager before breaking through with his 2017 mixtape A Love Letter to You featuring the song “Love Scars.”

Trippie’s early success quickly translated into mainstream recognition. The single “F*** Love,” his collaboration with the late XXXTentacion, was a commercial success, becoming the most-streamed song on SoundCloud. His debut studio album, Life’s a Trip, released in 2018, included the tracks “Dark Knight Dummo” featuring Travis Scott and “Taking a Walk.” His subsequent projects continued to perform strongly as well and made the Billboard 200, while songs such as “Miss the Rage,” featuring Playboi Carti, further expanded his audience.

Today, Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Trippie Redd has amassed a fortune of $20 million. And one of his major purchases after he hit it big was a mansion in Florida he bought for a cool $7.5 million. What’s so striking about the property is that after Trippie Redd moved in he had the home, the entire home, painted black.

The nearly 19,000-square-foot abode became especially notable after Trippie transformed its exterior into an entirely black residence. The mansion, which is located in Southwest Ranches, a rural and equestrian-focused town in Broward County, sits on more than four acres of land and originally had a more traditional Mediterranean-style appearance. In 2024, Trippie had the front and back exterior, as well as the roof and driveways, all painted black.

The rapper has said that the idea was actually suggested by his mother, as black is their favorite color and the concept ultimately made sense to him. The transformation reportedly required nearly three coats of paint.

The dramatic exterior is matched by the scale of the property. During a tour of the home, Trippie showed off its nine bedrooms, basketball court, piano room, and other customized spaces. He also revealed that his bed cost approximately $30,000.

For Trippie, the property is not simply a luxury purchase but also a place designed around his creative work. He explained that having significant personal space and privacy was important when choosing the home because he needs room to create. The residence also includes a recording studio, allowing him to work on music without leaving the property.

The black exterior has certainly attracted attention. Trippie acknowledged that the unusual appearance has become a topic of conversation among neighbors, but he likes the result. He has even joked about one unexpected downside: birds appear particularly attracted to the dark exterior, creating a maintenance problem for the property.

The mansion has become one of the most recognizable pieces of Trippie Redd’s public image. Alongside his music career and estimated multimillion-dollar fortune, the Southwest Ranches estate offers a glimpse into the rapper’s taste for unconventional design, privacy and luxury.
