The Reason Prince Harry Could Appear on British TV Soon
When it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were returning to the U.K. after moving to America six years earlier, people weren’t sure what to make of it. There was speculation about the possible reasons. Did the couple need money? Did they want to try again to get their tax-funded police protection back? Or did Harry simply miss home and his family?
We may never know the exact reason, but what was made clear is that the Sussexes are not returning to royal duties. When he lived in England, royal engagements and appearances were all Harry knew, so what will he do now that he’s back and won’t be participating in those?
Someone who used to work for the duke thinks he may promote himself on TV to get back in the good graces of the British public.
Grant Harrold was King Charles’ butler for seven years. While working for the monarch, Harrold’s duties also included valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He looked after Prince William, Catherine, and Prince Harry as well whenever they stayed at Highgrove House.
Since leaving the royal household, Harrold has become one of the U.K.’s leading etiquette experts. In 2025, he published his first book, The Royal Butler, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering royal commentary on both current and historic news stories.
Speaking on behalf of Smooth Spins Casino, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “If Prince Harry was to be sensible about the whole situation and not go down the Netflix route, he could try a series of him going around royal homes and palaces. I don’t think it would be that hugely successful, but the royal family wouldn’t mind him doing that because then it’s in brand.
“In terms of British reality shows, it’s tricky. I could see him being back on the sofa of This Morning, especially with the Invictus Games. You never know, he could be on Good Morning Britain. He’s done all the American chat shows. I would say it’s not impossible. I think it would be acceptable if he’s promoting the Invictus Games, but as long as he’s really careful.”
Harrold then considered the prince doing something light-hearted like a game show, opining, “Could Harry go on a quiz show? Well, Princess Anne was on Blankety Blank. It’s a bit of fun. That’s all very possible. Let’s face it, he’s got to come up with some new way of doing things. He’s not going to be doing the traditional royal stuff. So he’s got to do something … Doing the game show circuit, making guest appearances to promote his brand and the games, is completely feasible.
“Trying a different approach is not a bad idea for Harry as he’s a lot of fun. He needs to win the British public over. I think we’ll definitely see him probably more between now and Christmas. I think he’ll run everything he does past the king, just to keep him happy.”
