Jace Evans Offers an Update on His Living Situation; Says Jenelle Evans Blocked Him

The 16-year-old, who lived with his grandmother until just two years ago, revealed his mother had blocked him and turned off his phone after he leaked texts between them. The former Teen Mom 2 star has not yet responded.

While the tension between Jace and Jenelle Evans has clearly been mounting for months, it’s rare for that drama to bleed over into the public arena. It looks like it’ll be happening more often if Jace has anything to say about it. The teen just shared two stories on Instagram that reveal exactly what has been going on in the last 72 hours. According to Jace Evans’ most recent update, he is back in North Carolina and feeling much better. He did not reveal who he was living with, though. The upload’s background doesn’t offer any clues, either.
In the story, the 16-year-old said he doesn’t understand his mother and wishes she would just let things go and, perhaps, get off social media. He went on to reveal exactly where he stands with the 33-year-old former reality TV star. Jace revealed that his mother shut off his phone and blocked him after he leaked texts between them. Jenelle has not responded to the allegations. Instead of addressing what is going on with Jace, she’s used Instagram to claim she broke her wrist and accuse media outlets of slander. In the last 24 hours, she has also suggested that she’s spending quality time with her two younger children, Kaiser Griffith and Ensley Eason.
Text leaks and a CPS investigation led to the teen’s move
While Jace is happy to be back in North Carolina, his trip back was facilitated by a rather dramatic situation. Earlier this week, Jace used Instagram to post screenshots of texts between himself and his mother. In the messages, Jenelle threatens the teen and curses at him. Jenelle tried to get ahead of the situation, taking to her own Instagram to claim her son was acting out because she disciplined him. The texts and a phone call allegedly led to a CPS investigation. Once the investigation was opened, Jace was off and headed back to North Carolina.
From the sounds of it, he never really acclimated to life in Las Vegas and has been fighting to return to his home state for months. August Keen, who dated Jenelle Evans for about a year, told OK Magazine that he believes the teen struggled to find his footing in a new environment and had had issues with law enforcement.
Jenelle previously reported that the teen was acting out. A 911 call in May eventually led to his brief interlude in Florida with his biological father. This most recent move appears to be semi-permanent. It is unclear, however, if he has been enrolled in school in North Carolina. Evans pulled her three children out of school in 2024 to relocate them from North Carolina to Las Vegas. While all three attended Las Vegas schools for the 2024-2025 school year, it was not without trouble.
