Jane Fonda posted that she’s ‘reeling’ from Rob Reiner’s death after seeing him at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party
The night before the tragic deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, the couple attended a star‑studded Christmas party hosted by late‑night host Conan O’Brien in West Los Angeles. At the party, troubling tensions between Rob and his 32‑year‑old son, Nick Reiner, became increasingly evident. Multiple eyewitness accounts and law enforcement reports indicate that Nick was acting erratically. Throughout the evening, he was reportedly “freaking everyone out,” according to People.
According to insiders, a very loud argument broke out between father and son during the party, loud enough that it was overheard by other attendees. This prompted Rob and his wife, Michele Singer, to leave early after the confrontation. Some reports also describe Nick seeming uncomfortable and out of place in the formal setting. Less than 24 hours after that holiday gathering, Reiner and his wife were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home. Nick was later arrested on suspicion of the murders.
Jane Fonda attended O’Brien’s Christmas party. After the deaths of Rob and Singer were reported, she took to Instagram to post about it.
“Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,” she captioned a post of her and Rob. “They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them [the] night before last looking healthy and happy. I am reeling with grief. Stunned.”
