Jenelle Evans Fumbles Simple Interview Question: She Was Wrong on Jace Evans’ Age
Jenelle Evans is celebrating her divorce this week with a party, but ahead of the festivities, she sat down for an interview and openly discussed her son, Jace Evans. Jace’s custody drama was heavily covered during Evans’ time on Teen Mom 2. While she regained custody in 2023, she appears to still have a lot to learn about Jace Evans, such as his age. Evans fumbled big by getting the teen’s age wrong while discussing where he was living and his behavioral troubles.
Jenelle Evans doesn’t remember how old her son is
Jenelle Evans has been hitting the interview circuit in recent weeks. She’s spent a lot of that time talking about Jace Evans, but she still doesn’t seem to know basic details about the teen. During a chat with Us Weekly, she seemed to forget just how old her son is. During the course of the conversation, a Us Weekly correspondent stated that Jace Evans will be turning 16. Evans corrected them by suggesting Jace is “about to be 15.” That isn’t correct, though.
Jenelle Evans appeared on season 2 of 16 and Pregnant while pregnant with Jace. The episode, which aired in February 2010, included the now-teenaged Jace’s birth. His birthday is August 2, 2009. The teen is less than two months away from turning 16. The correspondent was right about his age, not his mother.
Evans was 17 when she gave birth to Jace. His biological father, Andrew Lewis, was several years older. She relinquished custody of Jace to Barbara Evans when he was still an infant. She regained custody in 2023. Andrew Lewis only entered Jace’s life in the last year.
How many other children does she have?
We now know that Jenelle Evans is unsure of Jace Evans’s age. We can’t help but wonder if she knows the age of her other children. Jace isn’t Jenelle’s only child. She is actually the mother of three.
Her second child, Kaiser Griffith, will turn 11 at the end of June. She welcomed Kaiser in 2014 with her former fiancé, Nathan Griffith. Griffith, who is a mostly absentee father, is currently serving more than a year behind bars after strangling his much younger girlfriend.
Her youngest child, Ensley Eason, was born in January 2017. Evans welcomed Ensley with her estranged husband, David Eason. Eason is likely headed to trial for strangling Jace Evans. He has not had contact with Ensley since Evans moved to Las Vegas in 2024. Evans has made several comments about his lack of interest in parenting Ensley. Several months ago, a judge ordered Eason to complete a psychological evaluation before he could see Ensley. He has yet to submit that assessment.
