Jennifer Lopez is known for her sizzling chemistry with leading men

J.Lo has a gift for cultivating chemistry with her onscreen love interests. She’s starred in nearly 10 romantic comedies alongside heartthrobs and Hollywood greats, including Matthew McConaughey (The Wedding Planner), Owen Wilson (Marry Me), Milo Ventimiglia (Second Act), Ralph Fiennes (Maid in Manhattan), Alex O’Loughlin (The Back-up Plan), and Michael Vartan (Monster-in-Law).

During an October 2025 interview on the Las Culturistas podcast, the Greatest Love Story Never Told star opened up about how she can fall for so many different men onscreen. Co-host Matt Rogers praised Lopez for starring in many “defining romantic comedies.” He continued, “For me, I was going to ask about the way you have such great chemistry with so many different kinds of leading men. Like, I don’t think you get much more different than McConaughey and Ralph Fiennes.”

Lopez admitted, “I know. I can fall in love with anybody.” Rogers asked if that was true. She replied, “I don’t know if it’s because I’m a romantic and I so believe in love . . . I’m able to have that chemistry with people and with all different kinds of people. I’m able to see through this [gestures to her face] and get to kind of, like, who the person is on the inside and really fall in love with that person for that moment between action and cut, right?”

Jennifer Lopez is a romantic at heart — and it gets her into trouble sometimes

Seeing people for who they are on the inside, on film and in real life, might help explain Lopez’s belief in love. It would be easier to fall for someone when you’re so gifted at finding the good in a romantic interest, fictional or not.

Jennifer Lopez has often spoken openly about her deep belief in love. Over the years, the romantic at heart has acknowledged that she tends to fall quickly and strongly in relationships. She’s been married four times. First to Ojani Noa (1997–1998), then to dancer Cris Judd (2001–2003). Then, singer Marc Anthony (2004–2014), and most recently Ben Affleck (2022–2025). Each union ended in divorce. Between marriages, Lopez has also had public romances with Sean “Diddy” Combs, Alex Rodriguez, and Casper Smart.

Like many traits, a deeply romantic nature comes with both strengths and challenges. Jennifer Lopez’s life has offered a very public glimpse of both.
