Job Loss, Failed Business Ventures Led to Collapse of ‘RHOSLC’ Star Whitney Rose’s Marriage
Money troubles are to blame for Whitney Rose’s reported split from Justin Rose.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star and her husband of 16 years are “living separate lives,” an insider told Page Six. The couple – who share a daughter, 16, and a son, 13 – have grown distant from each other and are only staying together for the sake of their children, the source claimed.
Financial pressure tested Whitney and Justin’s marriage
Whitney and Justin have come under serious financial strain in recent years, and that has apparently played a huge role in their collapse of their marriage.
In 2022, Justin was fired from his executive position at LifeVantage Corporation. He claimed he got the boot because of Whitney’s notoriety as a new Bravo star.
“He said how much he appreciated the work I had done but, ‘With Whitney being a public figure, I just didn’t see how we were going to be able to make this continue to work,’” he explained in a 2023 episode.
In June 2025, Justin started a new job as the chief revenue officer at a health technology company called BioFi, according to his LinkedIn. Before that, he was president of a company called Awakend. He landed the latter role after being out of work for a year, and that period of unemployment took a serious toll on their marriage. So did Whitney’s failed business, Wild Rose Beauty. She blamed the company’s struggles in part on Justin pressuring her to embrace a direct-to-consumer business model rather than selling through big box stores.
“I have a business that failed. That’s it,” she said in a season 6 episode, adding that she and her husband were struggling after going “all in” on the venture. “Now we have nothing.”
After the business fell on hard time, Whitney and Justin merged it with another company. But she recently regained control of the brand.
‘RHOSLC’ star said her husband wasn’t fully committed to her beauty business
Whitney has opened up in the past about difficulties in her marriage. In a 2025 episode of RHOSLC, she turned to a “intuitive consultant” named Terence for a psychic reading. He quickly picked up on tension in their marriage related to their finances.
“Why do I feel like communication is upside down in the home?” Terence asked. “You’ve kind of shut down a little bit, the last two years. There’s also frustration, business wise. … You’ve kind of let the world take over, instead of you taking over the world. You have to be yourself, authentically.”
In a confessional, Whitney revealed that the tension between her and Justin wasn’t just about money.
“Wild Rose Beauty was the thing that finally made me feel equal in our marriage,” she said. “Looking back, Justin showed no interest in it. And I didn’t realize how much I needed Justin’s approval and how much it hurt me that he didn’t want to be a part of Wild Rose Beauty.”
“It’s hard, because I love Justin, but I also resent him and I don’t feel like I can talk to Justin about these feelings right now,” she added tearfully. “Our marriage is beautiful, but communication is the thing that we struggle with.”
