John Stamos Lashes Out at ‘Saint’ Lori Loughlin’s Husband Mossimo Giannulli, Blames Him for College Admissions Scam

On October 20, John Stamos was a guest on Good Guys podcast, where he opened up about his former Full House costar Lori Loughlin’s legal and personal woes in recent years.

“Forty years I’ve known her,” Stamos told hosts podcast Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. “You can see through people after a few years. This woman’s a saint. I’m just heartbroken for her right now.”

In early October, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli separated after 28 years of marriage. The split came six years after the couple was accused of paying money to guarantee their two daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella, were admitted to the University of Southern California. Each eventually served several months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. 

According to Stamos, Giannulli bears the blame for the couple’s legal drama, which ended his wife’s career at Hallmark Channel. He revealed that he spoke to Loughlin on the morning the college admissions scandal news broke and that she was clueless, telling him that “Mossimo handles all that stuff…”

Yet the When Calls the Heart star ended up paying the price for husband’s actions, Stamos said. 

“She goes to f*cking prison for this a**hole for three months, right? And he goes for whatever. And in typical Lori fashion, I said, ‘How was it?’ She goes, ‘You know, I met a lot of nice ladies in there. We have a book club,’” he recalled. 

“She didn’t deserve to be dragged through that. … I know for a fact it was all him. … I don’t think Olivia wanted to go to college … it seems like she was doing great with her YouTube and [makeup],” he added.

Now, Loughlin is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage of nearly three decades. (The couple has not filed for divorce.) Stamos knows whose side he is on. 

“I will never talk to him again,” the actor said, describing the fashion designer as a “terrible narcissist.” 

“She put up with a lot over the years [with] this guy,” he said. 

“All of a sudden they’re split up and I know she’s just devastated,” Stamos shared. “For a girl who, you know, has lived her life really well, [is] a good person, a good mother, a good wife. I know all this for a fact. To be thrown into, now, this separation and exploding, blowing up her family this way. And I just hate to see her go through this.”

“Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core,” he added.
