Each year, dozens of new shows premiere across networks, cable, and streaming channels. Some of them are good, some of them aren’t so good, but only a select few really grab the attention of fans. Apple TV seems to have a winner with Your Friends and Neighbors, a thrilling drama that forces fans to wonder just how well they know their neighbors. The series was so well-received that Apple was willing to renew it for a third season before season 2 even dropped, and now the streamer is making big announcements about what’s to come in season 3 as fans head into the finale. As the season finale dropped, Apple announced that Joshua Jackson would be joining season 3 of Your Friends and Neighbors.

Joshua Jackson Signs On for a Recurring Role in ‘Your Friends and Neighbors’

Joshua Jackson is set to land in a very precarious cul-de-sac come next spring. The Dawson’s Creek alum has officially signed on for a recurring role in season 3 of Apple TV’s runaway hit, Your Friends and Neighbors. Apple made the announcement via Instagram. The buzzy series follows Andrew Cooper, an executive who turns to robbing his wealthy New York neighbors after he loses his job, and learns more than he ever bargained for.

While it is unclear exactly what role Jackson will be playing, the options are endless, and fans presume he’ll show up as a neighbor in the fictional wealthy enclave of Westmont Village, NY. Jackson isn’t the only well-known actor to be joining the cast, either. Michelle Monaghan, known for her recent role in The White Lotus, has also signed on to join the complicated community.

Jon Hamm, who takes on the role of Coop, will be returning. Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, and several other stars are expected to reprise their roles, as well.

An Early Renewal That’s Paying Off

Apple is making it a bit of a habit to time its announcements about Your Friends and Neighbors to key moments. Joshua Jackson’s addition to the cast was announced as fans geared up for the season two finale. While Jackson is a huge get for the original offering from Apple, the streamer was confident in the series with or without the Dawson’s Creek alum. Your Friends and Neighbors was renewed for a third season before season 2 even released its first episode. In fact, the streamer announced its plans for a third season in the lead-up to the season 2 premiere. The early bet took some fans by surprise, but it certainly was a welcome one. Fans were able to settle into season 2 knowing they wouldn’t be left hanging. It creates a really comfortable viewing experience, one that is often hard to come by these days.

While we don’t have an official premiere date yet, industry experts theorize that Apple will be sticking to its schedule for the show. Season 1 of Your Friends and Neighbors premiered in April 2025, with Season 2 following almost exactly one year later. Season 3 is likely to hit the streamer in April 2027, assuming nothing goes terribly wrong.
