Justin Bieber Told Wife Hailey She’d Never Get a ‘Vogue’ Cover: ‘Yikes … So Mean’
Justin Bieber should never have doubted his wife, Hailey Bieber, he says. On Tuesday, the pop star took to social media to congratulate Hailey on making the cover of Vogue – and to apologize for telling her she’d never be featured by the iconic fashion magazine.
Justin Bieber recalls ‘huge fight’ with Hailey Bieber
Hailey is Vogue’s summer 2025 cover star. It’s an accomplishment that the model’s husband once told her was out of her reach, he admits.
“Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,” Justin wrote in a May 20 Instagram post, alongside an image of his wife’s cover shoot. “I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue.”
“Yikes I know, so mean,” he continued, before explaining that he made the cruel comment because he “felt so disrespected” and wanted to “get even.”
In hindsight, Justin said he realized his heat-of-the-moment response was not very mature.
“So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken,” he added.
Justin Bieber says getting married was ‘the smartest thing’ he’s ever done
In her Vogue interview, Hailey, 28, opened up about her relationship with Justin and giving birth to their first child, Jack Blues, in August 2024. She had a painful labor and then experienced a post-partum hemorrhage, which she described as “a little bit scary.”
“I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind,” she said.
She also insisted that her marriage to Justin was stronger than ever since they became parents, despite rampant speculation that they are on the verge of divorce. While seeing crazy rumors about her life was difficult, she admitted, she tried to follow her husband’s lead and ignore the haters.
“You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no,” she said. “So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.”
As for Justin, he has no regrets about marrying Hailey. (The couple tied the knot in 2018.)
“I’ve done a lot of dumb things in my life,” he told Vogue in an email. “But the smartest thing I’ve ever done was marry Hailey.”
