Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry recently underwent a surgical procedure to bid farewell to her double chin, an issue she attributes to hereditary sagging skin. She candidly shared “before and after” snapshots and videos from her operating room recovery on Instagram, cheekily captioning them “a scrapbook of saying goodbye to my double chin.” On her Coffee Convos podcast, she had earlier described the procedure as getting her “neck chopped off,” expressing hope for a “snatched jawline,” while clarifying that liposuction wasn’t an option because the problem was purely skin, not fat. Now, she’s clapping back at fans as they leave negative comments.

Kailyn Lowry’s always been an open book. In August 2025, she told her Coffee Convos podcast listeners about her imminent “double chin” surgery.

“I’m getting my neck chopped off in two weeks, so I’m, like, sort of waiting to get Botox until after that,” she explained on the episode. ” … I’m really excited to have a snatched jawline. What’s weird [is] when I sit up straight, I don’t really have a double chin, right. But it’s the angles that I always have a double chin. Sometimes, I have three.”

Lowry noted that she initially asked for liposuction for her chin. But doctors told her it was “just skin,” and that procedure wouldn’t be appropriate for her wants.

On Aug. 24, 2025, Lowry posted photos and videos of before and after the procedure on her Instagram. The collection included a video of her eating the day after the operation, and another of her snoring as she slept. The last few showed her healing progress.

“A scrapbook of saying goodbye to my double chin,” she captioned the post, including the hashtags #kailandthechaos, #transformationinprogress, and #glowup.

While many Teen Mom fans praised Kailyn Lowry for going under the knife and getting the procedure she wants, others weren’t as impressed. One fan urged Lowry to “give it up with the plastic surgery,” and she responded, “I can actually do whatever tf I want tbh,” with a crying-laughing emoji.

Another fan asked, “Serious question, but won’t the double chin come back with weight gain?”

“I guess, but what I did was fix [a] genetic problem with jowling and sagging skin,” Lowry responded. “I didn’t have lipo.”

“Anyone else think it looks the same?” another fan commented. To that, Lowry clapped back, “Babe, I’m swollen,” with a crying-laughing emoji.

Yet another fan commented, “Try a workout.”

“And do … the jowling and double chin is genetic,” Lowry answered.

Kailyn Lowry will continue to be open with her fans regarding her surgery, as she promised one fan in the comments that additional details were incoming. And she also noted that she’s tempted to go under the knife again for a different body part.

“Just please never touch your cute nose,” one fan commented on her Instagram.

“This nose gets me called Miss Piggy,” Lowry noted. “I really have to fight myself not to touch it.”

In January 2025, Lowry got real about the dangers of plastic surgery. She spoke to her Instagram followers in a candid video about the surgery she recently had.

“I was going for a breast reduction, then I was like, ‘You know what, I should just add some lipo 360, add some tummy tuck in,'” Lowry noted in the video.

“I pray that my kids never struggle with their body images enough to mutilate their bodies to be skinny,” she said through tears, adding, “I think a little nip and tuck in terms of a nose job or a boob job is OK. But to go through this to be skinny is mental illness, truly. And I say that with the most respect to anyone going through it.”
