Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta were shocked when Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker revealed they were divorcing after a decade of marriage. They met on the show in 2011 and announced their engagement in 2013. The following April, they tied the knot. Burruss officially filed for divorce from Tucker on Nov. 21, 2025, according to People.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” her statement read. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

In the 2014 spinoff series, Kandi’s Wedding, fans saw the couple create and sign a prenuptial agreement. Now, in 2026, that’s come into play. According to TMZ, the divorce settlement notes that Burruss won’t pay any child or spousal support to Tucker. The couple shares two children: Ace, born in 2016, and Blaze, born in 2019. They’ve agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their kids.

As for assets, Burruss will reportedly pay Tucker a lump sum of $426,000. Burruss will keep several vehicles, including her 2022 Bentley SUV, Cadillac Escalade, Ford F-250, Porsche Cayenne SUV, and a 1963 Chevrolet Camaro. Tucker will keep his 2020 Mercedes G-Wagon, 2020 Porsche 911, 2023 Range Rover, 1973 Ford Bronco, 1963 Lincoln, and a Ford Transit Van. Burruss and Tucker agreed to sell their food truck.

Additionally, Tucker agreed to leave Burruss’ guest home within 15 days of signing the parenting deal.

So, why did Kandi Burruss file for divorce from Todd Tucker? In early 2026, she spoke to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live about the events leading up to the split.

“It happened in July,” Burruss said, according to People. “In July was when I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I can’t do this no more.’”

“Was there a specific moment or thing that happened?” Cohen asked.

“Yeah, it was a specific situation that happened,” she said. “I’m not talking about it on Watch What Happens.”

Burruss noted that when speaking about the divorce, she and Tucker were approaching the split amicably. And she believes they’ll be “great co-parents.”

“For the most part, even if we argue, we still try to be nice to each other,” she said. “… But I feel like once we’re done with this, I really feel that we will be able to be great co-parents, because our ultimate goal is to make sure that all of our kids are happy and that they don’t feel the brunt of our drama.”

In 2020, Burruss and Tucker also talked in couples therapy about how their busy work schedules made intimacy difficult. “We love each other to death, but we just haven’t had time to be happy lately,” Tucker said.
