Many people say a lot of negative things about Kim Kardashian and her sisters. The sisters’ lack of luck in love has been a point of conversation for years. Many critics have wondered if Kim Kardashian, in particular, has a tendency to walk out on romances prematurely. After all, she did leave one marriage behind after just 72 days. Her marriage to Kanye West has been reduced to nothing more than a public relations disaster. In fact, for years, a narrative painting Kim Kardashian as the villain in her marriage to Kanye circulated.  Many of those critics have been silenced following the release of “In Whose Name?”, a documentary centered on Kanye West. Kardashian appears often. Based on the documentary, it appears that Kim Kardashian genuinely tried to make her marriage work. She simply ran out of options.

Kanye West’s behavior towards Kim Kardashian has silenced some critics

Kim Kardashian will always have critics questioning her more objectionable moves. Kanye will always have critics, too. Still, most people now agree that Kanye West was the one at fault in their marriage. They now believe he was the primary reason the relationship ended. In several scenes in In Whose Name?, West is seen yelling at Kardashian, acting aggressively, and attempting to silence her. In one particularly emotional clip, the mother of four is reduced to tears as West simply unloads on her. Her mother, Kris Jenner, wasn’t safe from the vitriol either.

While the documentary spans the highest of West’s highs and the lowest of his lows, most viewers noticed that Kanye using his wife and her family as scapegoats was a common theme. Several Reddit users point out that Kardashian did appear commited to her marriage until Kanye’s antics became too much to deal with. While likely not intended, the documentary does depict the emotional weight Kardashian carried while married to Kanye. It also highlighted how exhausting it was for family, friends, and business associates to interact with Kanye at times.

In many ways, she’s still carrying the weight

The documentary wrapped filming years after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West split up. By the time the last piece of footage was recorded, Kanye had moved on to a Kim Kardashian lookalike, Bianca Censori. The filmmaker opted not to feature her in the documentary. Despite both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West moving on from each other, she still appears to be shouldering the majority of the responsibility in their now-transformed relationship.

West is still using Kardashian as a bit of a punching bag, throwing insults at her and her family on X whenever he feels it is fitting. She continues to deploy everything she has learned in media training to actively avoid saying anything publicly that might trigger a reaction from him. They’ll likely be stuck in this cycle for years to come. Kardashian previously said she wants her four children to think they have the “best dad.” Kanye’s antics are surely making it hard for that image to remain intact.
