Kanye “Ye” West and Kim Kardashian’s high-profile marriage continues to capture attention in the entertainment world. The couple tied the knot in May 2014 after dating for several years and quickly became one of pop culture’s most influential power couples, raising four children together. However, the marriage faced public scrutiny and personal challenges over the years. Kardashian filed for divorce on Feb. 19, 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. Before their divorce was finalized the following year, West posted a Thanksgiving prayer to Instagram — and he mentioned his estranged wife. Here’s what went down.
Kanye ‘Ye’ West once mentioned Kim Kardashian in his Thanksgiving prayer when they were divorcing
Kanye “Ye” West and Kim Kardashian have experienced their share of ups and downs through the years. Kardashian filed for divorce in early 2021, and the exes finalized their split in November 2022. In November 2021, West took to Instagram to post a public prayer. The five-minute video, which has since been removed from the platform, included a choir singing as West spoke about his regrets, according to Page Six.
“All I think about every day is how I get my family back together and how I heal the pain that I’ve caused,” West explained. “I take accountability for my actions.”
“On this Thanksgiving, I’m so thankful for family,” he continued. “My blood family, my fans, and our haters, we love you too.”
West went on to state that drinking alcohol led to worsened mental health issues. He also recalled taking medication for his manic episodes and then going off that medication, leaving him “susceptible to other episodes.” He mentioned how Kardashian didn’t seem to support him wearing a red MAGA hat in support of Donald Trump, who was serving his first term as president at the time.
“I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one, and thank God only, press conference,” West continued.
Where is Kanye ‘Ye’ West for Thanksgiving in 2025?
Kanye “Ye” West and Kim Kardashian will not spend Thanksgiving together in 2025. The hip-hop artist had previously spent much of 2025 abroad. He and his wife, Bianca Censori, were reportedly in Spain and Japan. According to The U.S. Sun, West and Censori moved into a $35 million mansion in Beverly Hills in February 2025. It’s unclear whether that’s where they will reside as 2025 comes to a close.
Most recently, West was spotted in a TikTok from Mystery Fashionist’s account. The interviewer turned the microphone over to West, who introduced himself as “Ye from Chi.”
The interviewer then asked West to rate his outfit “from 1-10.”
To that, West said, “It’s always a 10 out of 10,” noting that he was wearing original Yeezy 950 boots and clothing from a pop-up store.
“What’s a fashion trend you regret participating in?” the interviewer continued.
West then took a second before responding with, “Life.”

Kim Kardashian opened up on the Call Her Daddy podcast in October 2025 about her relationship with Kanye “Ye” West.
“It’s not easy,” she said. “I raise the kids, you know, full-time. They live with me. I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad. And I think, you know, he knows that. I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when it’s time for that, and it goes in waves and phases. It’s a lot of work. … I just welcome healthy relationships. It’s not easy.”
Kardashian added, “It’s probably been a couple months since we’ve heard from him.”
With this in mind, it’s unclear whether Kardashian and West’s four kids will see West for Thanksgiving in 2025.
