The two share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and the divorce documents establish Kidman as the primary residential parent.
In light of the news, speculation is running wild regarding why Kidman and Urban are choosing to go their separate ways. A moment onstage between Urban and rising country music star Maggie Baugh is making its rounds.
According to Page Six, Urban sang “The Fighter” during a show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on April 1. He reportedly wrote the song after feeling inspired by his early love for Kidman. However, while on stage with Baugh in 2025, he reportedly pointed and looked at Baugh while singing the lyrics, “I was born to love you.” Following the exchange, Baugh sang beside Urban. The two stars shared a hug when the song ended.
In another clip, Urban can be seen changing the lyrics to the song to include name-dropping Baugh.
“When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” he sings. Previously, the lyrics were, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter.”

He spoke about how he nearly “blew” up their marriage after they initially tied the knot.
“We got married in June 2006, and barely four months into our marriage, my addictions that I’d done really nothing about, blew our marriage to smithereens,” he said. “And I went into the Betty Ford Center for three months. Four months into a marriage, I’m in rehab for three months. I had no idea what was going to happen to us. And if you want to see what love in action really looks like, give that a whirl.”
Urban added that Kidman “pushed through every negative voice” and “chose love” through this difficult time. “And here we are tonight, 18 years later.”
The country star went on to say that Kidman has an incredible capacity to love, and he felt inspired by her.
