
Kelley Mack, Actor on ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Chicago Med,’ Dies at 33
Kelley Mack, an actor and voiceover artist who appeared in The Walking Dead, 9-1-1, and Chicago Med, has died. She was 33.
Mack’s family shared the sad news in a post on her Instagram account.
“It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go,” read the announcement.
“Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies. She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express,” the post continued.

Mack began acting in commercials as a child. She played Addy in season 9 of The Walking Dead and also had roles in 9-1-1, Chicago Med, and The Goldbergs spinoff Schooled, as well as the Great American Family movie Mr. Manhattan, the indie comedy-drama Universal, and the 2024 horror movie Delicate Arch. She also did voiceover work for The Salvation Army.
Several people who had worked with Mack shared their condolences on the social media update.
“This is heartbreaking,” wrote Gustavo Gomez, who played Marco on The Walking Dead. “I feel so lucky that our paths crossed. Your bright light will always shine on.”
“I was lucky enough to create with Kelley on TWD,” wrote Michael Satrazemis, who directed multiple episodes of the AMC horror series. “A bright light on every level. All my love to those who love her.”
“Such an extremely talented and kind person. RIP Kelley you’ll be missed,” wrote comedian Chinedu Unaka.
In early January, Mack shared that she had been diagnosed with diffuse midline glioma, “an extremely rare type of astrocytoma.”
“It has been a very emotional and challenging time, truly testing my mental fortitude, faith, and physical strength,” she wrote. “They are so positive and we have a sense of calm knowing that my healing is taking place and we will overcome. This experience has brought me closer to God, and I am leaning on him and trust his plan for me.”
A celebration of life will be held August 16 in Ohio.
