Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Has Died at 48
Talent manager Brandon Blackstock has died.
Blackstock, who was 48, was the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the former stepson of Reba McEntire.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” a representative for the family told People, which was first to report the news. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
The news of Blackstock’s death comes one day after Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency because of a family matter.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote in a statement shared on Instagram.
Clarkson and Blackstock have two children, River 11, and Remington, 9. He also has two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage, as well as a grandson, Lake.
Blackstock and Clarkson married in 2013 and separated in 2020. The divorce was finalized in 2022. The pair met through his dad, Narvel Blackstock, who was then Clarkson’s manager. The elder Blackstock was married to Reba McEntire from 1989 to 2015.
