The Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party dates back to the late 1970s. Kris Jenner and her then-husband, Robert Kardashian Sr., began hosting an annual holiday gathering for family and close friends. What started as a more intimate celebration gradually evolved alongside the family’s rise to fame, eventually becoming a full-scale, star-studded event. In the years following Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the tradition expanded to include rotating hosts. Kourtney, Kim, or Khloé Kardashian put their own stamp on the décor, menu, and theme.

In December 2025, Khloé and Kris spoke about the iconic party while on the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, including its humble beginnings. Kris explained how the first party in 1978 had “very few people,” as it was mostly just family who attended. “And then it just grew, and grew, and grew,” Kris said.

Eventually, the Christmas Eve party started rotating once Kris’ kids invited their friends, expanding the party by hundreds of people.

“I won’t take the reins,” Khloé admitted. “I don’t want the reins; I don’t want that many people in my home.” She then noted that she was “proud” of Kris for saving her, as her home was nearly the victim of the vote to have the party. However, Kris then pointed out that they should have the party at Kendall Jenner’s home. “Do you think I want people in my home?” Khloé continued. “No. I don’t want the party.”

During Khloé Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s discussion about their family’s Christmas, they noted that no matter who hosts the event, everyone in the Kardashian-Jenner family is clued into the theme.

“We love a Pinterest board,” Khloé noted.

“Love a good meeting,” Kris said, and her daughter agreed. However, Khloé noted that not everyone shows up, which is OK. However, if family members don’t show up to the meetings, they don’t get a say in the theme.

“You can’t come to the third meeting and be like, ‘Oh, I don’t like that,'” Khloé said. “Nope. We’ve already had two meetings before. We’ve decided on X, Y, and Z.”

“We all equally split the cost of the party,” Khloé revealed.

“Because it gets really crazy,” Kris added.

Is the iconic get-together happening in 2025?

Kris Jenner verified that the Christmas Eve party is definitely happening in 2025. While Khloé Kardashian seemed less enthused, Kris promised her daughter that the get-together would be “small.”

“But, we’re going to do it,” Kris promised. “And yes, I have something to wear — of course I do!”

Khloé mentioned that she had a few ideas of what to wear for the occasion, but she had nothing prepared just yet. As for Kris, she’s totally prepped and ready for the big day — and “so excited” to bust out her Christmas Eve outfit.
