Kim Kardashian’s Aneurysm Might’ve Been Result of Kanye West Divorce
Kim Kardashian and Kanye “Ye” West’s divorce marked the end of one of Hollywood’s most high-profile relationships. After nearly seven years of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in 2022. Kardashian received joint physical and legal custody, while Ye agreed to pay child support. In The Kardashians Season 7 teaser, Kardashian receives a concerning medical diagnosis, and the stress of her divorce might’ve had to do with its development.
Kim Kardashian thinks the stress of her divorce from Kanye ‘Ye’ West has to do with her brain aneurysm
In the emotional teaser for The Kardashians Season 7, Kim Kardashian shocked viewers by revealing that she was diagnosed with a small brain aneurysm during a recent MRI scan. Cameras captured the tense moment as she lay inside the imaging machine. She later broke down in tears after doctors informed her of the finding. “Why the f*** is this happening?” she questioned in disbelief.
Kardashian went on to explain to her famous family that her doctors believed the aneurysm could have been brought on, or worsened, by extreme stress. She linked that strain to the emotional toll of her divorce from Kanye “Ye” West and the ongoing pressures of co-parenting their four children.
The 45-year-old also shared that her psoriasis had recently flared up. This served as another sign that her body was reacting to the constant anxiety she’d been under.
“I mean, I have psoriasis again,” she explains in The Kardashians Season 7 premiere, according to People. “I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect.”
Is the brain aneurysm serious? What to know
A brain aneurysm, also known as a cerebral aneurysm, occurs when a weakened area in the wall of a blood vessel in the brain bulges outward, forming a balloon-like shape. According to the Mayo Clinic, most aneurysms are small and may not cause any symptoms or immediate danger. However, the condition becomes serious when there’s a risk of rupture, which can lead to a life-threatening hemorrhagic stroke.
A ruptured aneurysm can cause sudden and severe headaches, vision problems, nausea, and even loss of consciousness, requiring emergency medical attention. Because of these risks, even unruptured aneurysms are closely monitored by doctors once discovered.
Monitoring a brain aneurysm typically involves regular imaging tests such as MRI, MRA, or CT angiography. These scans allow neurologists and neurosurgeons to track any changes in the aneurysm’s size or shape over time. If an aneurysm remains stable and small, doctors often recommend periodic scans every six to 12 months. This ensures it hasn’t grown or developed new risk factors. Patients are also advised to control their blood pressure, avoid smoking, manage stress, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Kim Kardashian says her 4 kids will eventually understand her and Kanye ‘Ye’ West’s divorce
Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kanye “Ye” West certainly wasn’t easy, especially because she and Ye share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. While speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian noted how she hoped her kids would understand the split as they age.
“You think, ‘You know what, if they see a good example of me setting boundaries, and then once my mental health starts to get affected, and then I can’t parent the way that I need to, and I can’t be present and focused, then there’s gotta be one of us that I can,'” Kardashian explained. “I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone. And I think when everyone’s older, they’ll be able to understand it and see that all.”
