Kim Kardashian discussed considering WNBA ownership while promoting NikeSKIMS
Kim Kardashian made big moves in bringing SKIMS to the world of elite athletes. Her campaign, which features her brand and Nike, titled “Bodies at Work,” showcases over 50 female athletes, including Serena Williams, Sha’Carri Richardson, Jordan Chiles, and Chloe Kim, emphasizing the fusion of performance and style. The launch event in New York City was a star-studded affair. Kardashian donned a sheer gray athleisure ensemble from the collection, highlighting the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and functionality.
Later, Kardashian spoke to Complex about the NikeSKIMS collab. “I didn’t set out thinking we were going to do a collab with Fendi or Dolce,” she noted. “It’s all pleasantly surprised me. As far as sport or activewear, I always had that vision.”
Kardashian noted that she considers Nike to have “the best innovation, and they have the best distribution, and they have the best athletes. … To partner with who, in my opinion, is the best, is beyond what I ever dreamed would happen. But, I’m really happy to be in this reality, because the partnership is proving to me that it is the perfect partnership.”
The interviewer then asked Kardashian if she considered owning any teams.
“I have thought about it,” the reality star admitted. “I think about it, and I think it would be such an interesting opportunity. Anything I can do to fight for women in sports. … My dream girls to wear the collection are the WNBA girls. Yeah, it has crossed my mind.”
So, what team would Kardashian own? “I’m a West Coast girl, so West Coast vibes over there,” she admitted.
