In 2022, she made headlines when she officially sat for the California First-Year Law Students’ Examination, commonly called the “baby bar.” Now, she reportedly took the California Bar Exam. Kim Kardashian embraced the rigor of studying to become a lawyer as part of her long-term goal to focus on criminal justice reform. According to TMZ, the reality star took the California Bar Exam in late July 2025.

The California Bar Exam is one of the most challenging professional exams in the United States. It’s designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of both general and California-specific law. It spans two days and includes multiple components: the multistate performance test (MPT), which evaluates practical lawyering skills; the essay portion, requiring in-depth analysis of topics ranging from contracts and torts to constitutional law; and the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a standardized multiple-choice test covering core legal principles. In addition, California has its own nuances, such as unique rules for evidence, professional responsibility, and community property law. The exam is notoriously rigorous, with pass rates typically lower than many other states.

While people taking the test typically take it in a large convention center, Kardashian was likely able to take her test in a more private setting.

So, when will Kardashian hear back about her test results? According to The State Bar of California, results can typically take anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks, or three to four months, to return. Those who took the test in July will not hear back until November.
