Kim Kardashian took the stand in Paris on Tuesday to testify about her terrifying 2016 robbery ordeal, revealing that she believed she might be killed during the attack. 

“I was certain that was the moment that he was going to rape me,” Kardashian testified. “I absolutely did think I was going to die.”

The Kardashians star was accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner, as she arrived at the Assize Court for the trial on May 13. She wore a black suit jacket and ankle-length skirt and accessorized with a striking $1.5 million diamond necklace by Samer Halimeh New York – a notable choice given that the theft of her jewelry is at the center of the case. Ten people are accused of invading her hotel suite and holding her at gunpoint in October 2016. The robbers stole $10 million worth of jewelry and cash, including her engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West.  

Kardashian stood for nearly five hours in heels as she shared personal details about the robbery and how it affected her. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum said she begged the robbers not to kill her because she had “babies.” She also said she feared her sister Kourtney Kardashian would return to the hotel suite and find her dead body. 

“I would be shot dead on the bed and she would see that and have that memory forever,” she said.

Since the attack – where she held at gunpoint and restrained with zip ties – Kardashian has beefed up her security and now has multiple people guarding her. She also refuses to keep valuable jewels in her home. Her social media habits have also changed. The robbers are believed to have used clues from her postings to track her movements and decide when to attack. 

“I started to get this phobia of going out,” Kardashian shared. “This experience really changed everything for us.”

“I can’t even sleep at night if I know there’s not multiple security,” she added.

The reality personality also spoke about her efforts to become a lawyer. She said she was “empathetic towards people who have committed crimes” and believed “in second chances and rehabilitation.”

“I want to become a lawyer and I do believe everyone has the opportunity to speak their truth, and this is my closure and my opportunity to put this to rest after everything I’ve been through,” she said toward the end of her testimony. 

“It was terrifying and life-changing and I don’t wish that kind of terror on anyone,” she added. “To think you could be killed or raped – I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.”
