The ringleader, Aomar Aït Khedache, received an eight-year sentence, five years of which were suspended, and all convicted individuals were released due to time already served. Two defendants were acquitted but were ordered to pay damages to Kim and the building concierge. Despite the convictions, several stolen items remain unrecovered.

In light of the past, the reality star is allegedly taking her personal security more seriously. “Kim doesn’t go anywhere without her full team now,” a family friend of Kim’s told RadarOnline. “We’re talking former intelligence guys, ex-military — it’s like a presidential-level detail.”

The insider alleged that Kim travels with armored transportation and decoys. She also vets every staff member and the locations that she plans to travel to. All in all, it allegedly costs Kim $12 million annually to stay so protected.

“She’s built a fortress around her life,” the source continued. “After what happened, there was no way she was ever going to allow that kind of vulnerability again. It completely changed the game.”

In a past episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kris Jenner discussed Kim Kardashian’s intense security measures with Khloé Kardashian. Jenner noted that when she stopped at Kim’s home, the security guards asked her for her identification before she could enter.

“Khloé, every time I go over there, they still don’t know who I am,” Jenner told Khloé during a candid conversation. “She has, like, a Navy SEALs team over there. I want her to be safe. We should be able to come and go at least a little more freely, that’s all.”

Khloé defended Kim’s intense security team, claiming Jenner always taught them to be as safe as possible. Jenner disagreed, noting that Kim’s family should have easy clearance.

“I go over there and it’s thumb prints, and signatures, and what’s your blood type!” the “momager” stated.

“We have all the clearance in the world!” Khloé said. “You just have to go through the front door. You don’t hop a fence to get into her backyard.”

However, what Kim didn’t know was that her mother had set up the scene as an elaborate prank. Jenner hired a stunt double to get tackled by Kim’s security, and it fooled everyone.

In 2017, Kris Jenner spoke on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about Kim Kardashian getting robbed in Paris. In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim tearfully recounted the terrifying ordeal.

“I was watching it and I was balling — balling when I saw it,” Jenner said, according to People. “And I just saw some of it. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing, it was so upsetting. It was such an upsetting time, and something so awful happened to somebody you love so much. And it’s just like … it chokes me up every time to think about it.”

“No one can get through the first few minutes without getting hysterical,” she continued. “Like, I get choked up just thinking about it and talking about it.”
