Following Bitcoin’s steep decline in 2022 — down to lows near $17,000, which temporarily devalued his holdings to around $198,000 — many critics called Beckham’s decision ill-advised. Undeterred, Beckham held his position.
By mid-2025, Bitcoin had rebounded and surged to all-time highs. At a price around $116,000–$120,000, his original 11.66 BTC is estimated to be worth between $1.35 million and $1.40 million, translating into a post-tax gain exceeding $1 million when factoring in taxes on his initial $750,000 income.
