Kimora Lee Simmons Reveals She Acts as a ‘Mom’ to Diddy’s Twin Daughters
Kimora Lee Simmons has a special connection to Sean”Diddy” Combs’ family. Kimora Lee Simmons has long shared a deep, decades-spanning friendship with Sean “Diddy” Combs rooted in their overlapping paths in fashion, music, and pop culture. Both rising to prominence in the ’90s (Kimora as a supermodel and Baby Phat mogul, Diddy as a hip-hop powerhouse and business executive), the two moved in the same elite circles and frequently supported one another’s projects. Their connection strengthened after Kim Porter’s death, a close friend of Kimora’s. This prompted Kimora to step in and offer emotional support to the entire Combs family.
On Dec. 3, 2025, Kimora spoke to TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Scarlett Johansson about her family life. She has five kids of her own and noted that she helps take care of other kids who aren’t her biological children.
“I have my kids, and then I have kids on the side,” Kimora explained. “I have a stepdaughter — well, an additional daughter; I have another son, bonus son, who’s on the show, Jaden — another one who’s just been with us for many, many years. One of my friends who passed away, Kim Porter, I have all of her kids, even though some of them are adults. But some of them are 18, twins.”
“Yeah, they’re with me,” Kimora continued when asked if the twins came to her often. “I just got off the phone with them. I’m a lot of people’s mom.”

Kimora Lee Simmons is a proud mother of five children. She has two children with her ex-husband, Russell Simmons — daughters Ming Lee Simmons, 25, and Aoki Lee Simmons, 23. She also has son Kenzo Lee Hounsou, 16, with actor Djimon Hounsou. In January 2020, she adopted her son, Gary Lee, who’s now 16. Finally, she has Wolfe Lee Leissner, 10, with former partner Tim Leissner.
In October 2024, Aoki spoke out in support of Diddy’s kids.
“I think his daughters and children are such wonderful people,” Aoki said, according to The Art of Dialogue. And I really hope you guys treat them with love and respect, because they’re nice kids. And it’s not their fault that anything adults — that’s adult business, and they are not adults. My little cousins, they are in school; they are not adults. So, please treat them like children. That’s all I ask.”

Kimora Lee Simmons doesn’t mess around when it comes to aiding Jessie and D’Lila Combs. In May 2024, she posted photos of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ twins for their senior prom.
“Prom 2024!” Kimora posted over a photo to her Instagram Stories, according to Entertainment Tonight. “I am so very proud of you my babies! I love you always and will protect you fiercely to the end with all I have! Congrats my loves! You made it! @the_combs_twins.”
The photo she posted showed the twins smiling and looking at each other in identical black dresses with bejeweled corset tops and tulle skirts.
Kimora then posted another photo of the twins with her car. “You know you’re cooked when you let the babies take your lambo!” she captioned the post.
