Kodak Black’s Long Arrest Record Explained
It’s another day and another arrest for Kodak Black. The rapper, born Bill Kapri, has been arrested in Orlando on drug trafficking charges. The arrest, stemming from a November 2025 incident, could send him to prison for years. It is far from the rapper’s first scrape with the law. Kodak Black has been arrested several times on some pretty serious charges. Let’s take a look back at his past arrests as his latest legal drama unfolds.
Robbery, drugs, and sexual assault charges followed Kodak Black a decade ago
Kodak Black has never had a great grasp of the law, it seems. At the very least, the rapper seems uninterested in following it. His legal troubles can be traced back to 2015. Just months after his 18th birthday, Kodak Black was arrested on assault, robbery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment charges in his home state of Florida. According to several sources, the rapper allegedly forced multiple people into his car and threatened them. A couple of months after that, he found himself in trouble again when he was picked up in a different Florida jurisdiction for marijuana possession.
2016 didn’t start off any better than 2015 ended for the music artist. In February 2016, he was accused of sexual assault in South Carolina. A nurse reported the assault after the alleged victim came forward. He was charged with criminal sexual conduct. Back in Florida, Kodak Black made headlines when he was arrested on gun and marijuana charges in Hallandale Beach.
2017 and 2018 brought a host of probation violations and new charges. After a live social media event, Kodak Black was arrested for child neglect and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The rapper was convicted and sentenced to a year behind bars for the weapons incident, but only served three months before being released.
2019 brought more firearms arrests for Kodak Black
Kodak Black’s early legal scuffles were serious but failed to result in significant jail time. He continued to test his luck, and in 2019, federal agents caught up with him. According to Lawyer Monthly, Kodak Black was arrested in April 2019 at the Rolling Loud Music Festival for firearms violations. The federal charges led to a swift guilty plea and a lengthy 46-month sentence.
That looked like the end of things, at least for a while, but in 2021, President Donald Trump commuted his sentence. He served about 20 of the 46 months. Despite his early release, Kodak Black opted not to stay out of trouble. In the years since his release, he’s been arrested a handful of times on drug charges, with the latest carrying a mandatory sentence if he’s convicted.
