Lacey Chabert is headed to Paris!
The Mean Girls star and Hallmark Channel fan-favorite is set to star in Paris Is Always a Good Ideas, a new limited series for Hallmark+.
Hallmark+ plans adaptation of ‘Paris Is Always a Good Idea’ with Lacey Chabert
Paris Is Always a Good Idea is based on the best-selling romance novel of the same name by Jenn McKinlay. The six-episode series is shooting on-location in France and Spain. In addition to Chabert, it will star Scott Michael Foster, Rebecca Hanssen, Henry Czerny, and Barbara Niven. Other cast members include Stephen Hagan, Julien Marlon Samani, and Alejandro Albarracín.
McKinlay enthusiastically endorsed Chabert and Foster’s casting in a pair of posts on Instagram.
“I could not be more thrilled to have @thereallacey play Chelsea in the upcoming @hallmarkplus series based on my novel PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA,” she wrote. “Wait…is this actually happening….? *Jenn faints*”
“For my readers who made Jason Knightley your book boyfriend, he’ll be played by @scottmfoster and all I can say is…WELL DONE … He’s a perfect Knightley,” she added.
What is the ‘Paris Is Always a Good Idea’ about?
In her latest Hallmark project, Chabert plays a career-driven nonprofit executive named Chelsea Martin. Chelsea travels to Paris with her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Foster) to secure a major donation. But a heartfelt message from her late mother – and a loving push from her sister Annabelle (Hanssen) – sends her on an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three great loves she once left behind. From the rolling hills of Ireland to the magic of Paris and the sun-kissed vineyards of Spain, Chelsea retraces old footsteps. Along the way, she discovers that sometimes moving forward means first looking back.
“I mean, Paris is always a good idea. I can’t wait for you to see my new series, coming soon to Hallmark+,” Chabert said in a video shared on Instagram. “I’ll see you in Paris.”
“We can’t wait for viewers to come along on Chelsea’s journey of self-discovery, healing and – of course – unforgettable romance,” said Hallmark Media’s head of programming Michelle Vicary. “We know Lacey will bring a warmth and authenticity that will draw viewers into Chelsea’s world as she goes down this exciting path that ultimately leads her to the love she didn’t know she was looking for.”
