When Was the Last Time Karlie Kloss Spoke Publicly About Taylor Swift?
The rumored rift between Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss appears to have thawed. Kloss was one of many guests at Swift’s Madison Square Garden wedding this month. She also recently made a brief mention of their wedding during an interview. This is the first time that Kloss has spoken about her one-time best friend in several years.

Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on July 3. While they reportedly had roughly 1,000 guests at the ceremony, few details about the event have leaked out. In a recent appearance on The Today Show, Kloss briefly mentioned the wedding, which she attended with her husband, Joshua Kushner.
“Listen, I try to protect the privacy of my friends’ personal lives,” Kloss said. “But what I will say is that they’re an amazing couple and I’m so happy for them.”
Swift did not attend either of Kloss and Kushner’s weddings.
Karlie Kloss hasn’t spoken about Taylor Swift in years
Kloss and Swift’s friendship began in 2012, after Swift shouted her out in a Vogue interview.
“I love Karlie Kloss,” she told the outlet. “I want to bake cookies with her!”
Kloss then responded to Swift on Twitter, noting that she would be interested in a friendship with her.
“Hey @taylorswift13 love the @voguemagazine cover! Your kitchen or mine? :)”
They then met at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2013 and became fast friends. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift revealed that Kloss often stayed in one of the guest rooms in her Manhattan apartment. She kept it stocked with the supermodel’s favorite Whole Foods products, and decorated the room with pictures of her.
By 2016, however, the pair were no longer spotted out in public together, and rumors of a rift began. In 2018, Kloss denied this, telling The New York Times: “Don’t believe everything you read.”
In 2019, though, Page Six reported that Swift was “furious” with her friend after she invited people over to her apartment without permission.
“Taylor got upset over something crazy and then she just alienated Karlie,” a source claimed.
After this, Kloss and Swift were seemingly at odds until 2023. Kloss attended Swift’s Eras Tour, though fans noted she sat in the bleachers, not the VIP section. In 2024, Kloss broke her silence on her former friend to praise her album The Tortured Poets Department.
“I’d say the whole album [is my favorite],” she told Yahoo! Life. “I mean, her music is classic.”
She also said that “Shake It Off” is her favorite Swift song. Since then, however, she has largely remained quiet about Swift.

Swift recently had a falling out with another one of her blonde friends. Their once-close relationship reportedly fell apart amid Lively’s It Ends With Us drama. Swift was dragged into the legal proceedings when Justin Baldoni’s team tried to depose her. Private text messages between the two friends also became public.
Swift is reportedly “taking a break from their friendship right now. Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” an insider told Page Six.
Unlike Kloss, Lively was not in attendance at Swift and Kelce’s wedding.
