On July 28, 2025, pop superstar Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were seen enjoying a relaxed dinner together at Le Violon, an acclaimed neighborhood restaurant in Montreal’s Le Plateau district. The evening featured a chef-curated tasting menu of lobster, tuna, lamb gnocchi, beef tartare, and cocktails. Earlier that day, they took a lengthy stroll through Mount Royal Park, accompanied by Perry’s dog, ending a calm, conversational outing between two recently single public figures. So, what did Perry and Trudeau say to each other while out on their date? Here’s what a forensic lip reader shared.

Katy Perry Proves There’s No Beef With Kim Kardashian After Orlando Bloom Romance Rumors

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau, both newly single, sparked buzz after being spotted on a casual yet intimate evening out in Montreal on July 28, 2025. Perry, who recently ended her long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, and Trudeau, who separated from Sophie Grégoire in 2023, seemed at ease in each other’s company. Their outing included a quiet stroll through Mount Royal Park — Perry’s dog in tow — followed by a multi-course dinner at the cozy neighborhood restaurant Le Violon.

Some sources claim that Perry and Trudeau didn’t display any overtly romantic gestures toward each other while at dinner. However, forensic lip reader Nicola Hickling deciphered the conversation between Perry and Trudeau during their dinner date. Hickling noted that Perry’s words toward Trudeau turned steamy.

At one point in the conversation, Perry leaned into Trudeau and said, “As long as we can stay the night together,” Hickling told Casino.org. The lip reader noticed how Perry delivered the line directly while leaning in with a light but suggestive smile.

Trudeau responded with a swift head shake and an open-palm gesture. His head shake appears to indicate,  “not now,” or “let’s be careful.” He then showed an upright flat palm, meaning “pause,” “not yet,” or “steady.” Hickling noted that Trudeau likely wasn’t shutting down the idea, but rather holding the conversation off for a later time.

Justin Trudeau’s associates allegedly said he thinks of Katy Perry as a ‘breath of fresh air’

Justin Trudeau might be ready to jump into a new romance with Katy Perry. He and Sophie Grégoire announced their separation in August 2023, and he allegedly finds Perry very intriguing.

“Justin always enjoys nice company, and Katy is the kind of woman that really caught his attention,” a source who worked with Trudeau told The U.S. Sun. “Justin has been single for a while and has enjoyed getting to know her. He likes her personality, and they are two people who really enjoy chatting about different topics, and they click very well so far, as they are going to see each other again very soon.”

The source added that Trudeau doesn’t want to “rush” the romance. “He is feeling that talking to her and getting to know her is very refreshing, like a breath of fresh air in his life,” they continued. “He was happy to connect with her so well, and that she appreciates him being a normal, respectful person who was very understanding of her recent separation with Orlando Bloom.”

Orlando Bloom and the pop star are ‘focusing on co-parenting’

Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry broke up three years after announcing their engagement. The couple plans to move forward as co-parents to their daughter, Daisy, 4.

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” reps for the exes told Us Weekly. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

Another source called the split “amicable,” as both parties wanted to go their separate ways after nearly a decade together.
