The daughter of actress Lisa Rinna and actor Harry Hamlin, she transitioned smoothly from her early days on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills into a serious modeling career. Unfortunately, her recent Instagram post upset several fans who thought she was promoting an unhealthy body image. Here’s what she said in response to the shaming.

Lisa Rinna’s daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, posted photos of herself on the beach that concerned fans

Lisa Rinna’s daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin, is making a name for herself in the fashion world. Since her runway debut in 2018 at Dennis Basso’s show, Amelia has walked for top luxury houses including Chanel, Miu Miu, Versace, Givenchy, and even graced the Victoria’s Secret stage. Her hard work and resilience were recognized in 2024 when she became Daily Front Row’s Model of the Year, a milestone she described as “mind-blowing.”

Beyond fashion, Amelia has bravely shared her recovery from an eating disorder, using her platform to advocate for body positivity and wellness. Unfortunately, many of her followers grew worried after her Instagram post in August 2025. The post includes several photos and videos of Amelia having fun on the beach, including posing nearly nude in the sand. One particular photo that captured fan attention shows the model sitting and leaning over her knees while topless, showing the muscles and bones in her back.

“Not to body shame girl but you look like you may need some help [sic],” one follower commented.

“Wow. Both sisters need help. It’s so scary,” another fan wrote. “I hope their mom is watching over them.”

“When ‘body positivity’ means overlooking eating disorders, we need to reevaluate,” yet another fan commented. “It is mental. Not physical.”

Amelia Gray Hamlin’s anorexia began in her early teens after seeing a paparazzi photo that made her suddenly dissatisfied with her appearance. Now, fans are worried about Amelia once more. In response to the backlash on her Instagram, she posted photos and videos of her eating bagels, a burger, and pizza.

“I literally live to eat,” she noted, according to DailyMail.com. “I don’t eat to live, LOL!”

“Never have I ever supported anorexia and or did I mean to ever make anyone feel that way [sic],” she continued. “My journey and goal on this Earth is to inspire and spread love. At a young age, I came out about struggling in the past — I have worked very hard to heal. And I have.”

Amelia noted that she posted the photos and videos “to help inspire and heal” others, “not to prove” that she eats. “I take videos of my food experiences cause they make me so happy. Never to prove,” she continued.

“I just want young girls to feel safe in a way I wasn’t made to feel when I was young and alone on social media,” she added. “[OK] love you bye.”

Amelia then apologized if her posts gave her fans negative feelings.

The mode previously opened up about developing an eating disorder

Amelia Gray Hamlin opened up about her eating disorder on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show podcast. She explained how the paparazzi incident as a teenager led to her negative self-image.

“I think I was like 14 or 15, walking out … with my mom,” she explained. “I was kind of in my awkward stage in life, and paparazzi was shooting at us, and I didn’t really think anything of it. I’d had that happen since I was, you know, born. It wasn’t a big thing.”

In response, she adopted extreme behaviors such as doing the Master Cleanse for nearly a month and overexercising late into the night, unnoticed by her family for a time. As her health deteriorated, a doctor gave her a stark warning: at that rate, she risked dying within four months. When Amelia finally opened up publicly in 2018 via a vulnerable Instagram post, she described how the illness had nearly taken her life as she became increasingly fixated on staying thin despite the severe physical toll it took.
