‘Love During Lockup’: Michael’s Mom Delivers Brutal Takedown of Her ‘Little Player’ Son [Exclusive Clip]
It’s a mom vs. mom showdown on the next episode of Love During Lockup.
In the February 6 installment of the We TV reality series, Kayleigh’s mom faces off with her daughter’s mother-in-law over Kayleigh’s messy finances. When Lori reveals that she dropped nearly $800 on new clothes for her son-in-law, Michael, Angel is outraged, sparking a heated confrontation between the two women.
Kayleigh is hiding the truth about her finances from Michael
Kayleigh, 35, is a certified nursing assistant and three-time divorcée who believes fourth time might be charm when it comes to marriage. Years after their time together as high school sweethearts, she and her ex Michael, 33, reconnected. Though Michael has been behind bars for six years for possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute, that didn’t stop them from saying “I do.”
But with Michael locked up, there are some things he doesn’t yet know about his wife. While he says he’s committed to making smart financial decisions after his release, she’s been spending freely, maxing out multiple credit cards in both their names, overspending on her man, and not paying her debts.
The extent of Kayleigh’s financial responsibility becomes clear when she sits down with both Lori and Angel, who already have bad blood over their different ways of dealing with their adult kids.
“So, we went shopping today,” Lori says. “I spent $740 on one outfit for Mike because [Kayleigh’s] credit cards all declined.”
Angel is visibly stunned. She wants to know why Lori – who has admitted to stealing her daughter’s identity in the past – is covering her daughter’s bills.
“Because this is what she wanted for your son,” Lori replies.
Michael is a ‘little player’ who needs to ‘support himself,’ his mom says
Michael’s mom has clearly embraced a tough love approach when it comes to her son.
“The little player does not need to look like a little player when he gets out of jail,” Angel says to Kayleigh. “He needs a job. He should support himself.”
“I just want him to look nice,” Kayleigh says.
Lori then flips the script, telling Angel that she should “support her son” like she is supporting Kayleigh.
“No. They’re grown-ass adults. They should support themselves. They have a family. They need to take care of themselves,” Angel says
Lori wonders why Kayleigh is struggling to make ends meet.
“Because she’s a dork who married an inmate,” Angel fires back.
“He needs to prove himself and get in order and do everything he’s got to do to be a successful member [of society],” she adds.
