Ashley Adionser from Love Is Blind is speaking her truth about her relationship with Tyler Francis and his “scary” lies about his past.

Ashley and Tyler met and married on the seventh season of the Netflix reality series, which aired in October 2024. But their marriage came under strain due to major drama over an alleged sperm donor situation. Now, Ashley is opening up about her marriage and recent split in the May 21 episode of fellow Love Is Blind alum Amber Desiree “AD” Smith’s What’s the Reality podcast.

Ashley Adionser on relationship with ex-husband Tyler Francis: ‘So much more to this story’

Ashley and Tyler seemed to have the perfect Love Is Blind story. They fell for each other in the pods and became one of two couples to say “I do” in their season. Before their wedding, Tyler confessed that he had stepped in as a sperm donor to help his close friend and her wife start a family. But while he had biological children, he said he had no relationship with those kids. But none of that was true, Ashley later learned.

“This man lied,” said Ashley, who announced in January 2025 that she and Tyler were divorcing after more than a year of marriage.

The truth about Tyler’s past came out when the mother of his kids spoke out on social media after the season aired. She said they had three kids. The first was conceived through sperm donation, but her younger kids, a pair of twins, were the result of intercourse. In addition, Tyler was much more than a sperm donor and actually played an active role in his kids’ lives, she said.

At first, Ashley seemed to stick by Tyler despite the controversy. But behind the scenes, she was in turmoil, she told AD.

“There’s so much more to this story,” Ashley said, sharing how the stories about Tyler’s past prompted her to turn Nancy Drew and do some “detective work” of her own. What she found shocked her.

As Ashley combed through her husband’s computer, she discovered “the motherlode” of information about his relationship with the mother of his children. While she declined to discuss specifics of what she found, she came away convinced that the core of the story was true. At that point, she was forced to confront the truth: That she did not really know the man she’d married.

“Oh my God, who are you?” she said when describing her reaction to Tyler’s web of lies.

Tyler should never have gone on ‘Love Is Blind,’ Ashley says

As Ashley came to terms with the extent of her husband’s betrayal, she also had to navigate the online backlash, which was swift and harsh. She took the criticism hard, saying that it actually had the effect of pushing her closer to Tyler for a time, as he was the only other person who could relate to her situation.

“The only person on the planet who understood what I was going through was the person who was doing it to me,” she said. “I’m letting this man hold me and actually, essentially, my captor.”

Eventually, Ashley realized she could no longer continue in the marriage. She and Tyler went their separate ways earlier this year, and Ashley is looking forward to the day when the divorce is finally official.

“It’s a good thing, she said. “I’ve been counting the days.”

With her marriage now in her rearview mirror, Ashley (like many Love Is Blind viewers) is left to wonder why Tyler thought he could hide the truth about himself.

“To marry me is crazy work … he should never have went on the show,” she said.

Ashley also said she couldn’t understand Tyler’s motivations for signing up for the reality series if he didn’t plan to be honest about who he was.

“Honestly, girl, if I knew this man’s intentions, for all of this it would make me sleep better at night,” she said. “I go back and forth in my head on whether he ever loved me. I don’t know. It’s sad because it was real for me.”
