‘Love Island’: KC’s Big Gesture Backfired in the ‘Cruelest Way,’ Said Body Language Expert

During Love Island USA’s Movie Night, Aniya Harvey had the opportunity to see the way that KC Chandler has spoken about her. As he tried to defend himself, KC jumped out of his seat. A body language expert shared why this completely backfired for him, and why Aniya came out of the interaction on top.

KC’s attempt to defend himself on ‘Love Island’ backfired

In conversations that Aniya watched during Movie Night, KC referred to her as a “grandma” for not being more affectionate with him. She also saw his connection with Titi Davis. As an argument between the men and women escalated, KC jumped out of his seat. He attempted to defend himself. Body language expert Inbaal Honigman with Casino.ca believes he quickly regretted this.

“KC stands up and immediately regrets it,” she said. “The reason KC jumps to his feet, is to be heard. He feels like nobody listens when he speaks, so he stands up to be bigger than the others, so he can look down at them and thus gain a little authority.”

Once KC stood up, a furious Aniya did, too. She walked over to him and asked, “What the f*** are you standing up for?” 

“He feels that if he towers above the ladies, they will finally pay attention, but this gamble backfires in the cruellest of ways,” Honigman said. “KC’s jumping to his feet instantly triggers Aniya. She takes offense to KC trying to make himself seem bigger, and instantly switches the conversation from the topic of him checking in on her, to the topic of him needing to sit down.”

At this point, KC sat back down, and Aniya stood over him, yelling.

“This is clearly something rude and unforgivable in her emotional lexicon,” she said. “KC concedes, and admitting defeat, sits his whole self down, at which point Aniya stands over him, leaning fully over his head, and yelling.”

She believes KC seemed defeated after this interaction during ‘Love Island’ Movie Night

Honigman sees the moment that KC sat down as a concession of defeat. He realized that Aniya was going to win this argument.

“The moment he sits down, he lowers his head and mutters neutral, soothing words of agreement, wishing the situation to be over,” she explained.

In this disagreement, Honigman believes that there is a clear winner.

“Aniya walks back to her perch, the victor,” she said. “KC remains with his eyes dropped, defeated.”
