Macaulay Culkin Has Rules for What Fans Should Not Do When They See Him Out in Public
Macaulay Culkin has been in the spotlight since he was a child. In 1990, he became a household name when he starred in the Christmas classic Home Alone. That film spawned a sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, also starring the actor, and both remain very popular holiday movies today.
Culkin has had several projects since but there will always be a dedicated Home Alone fanbase and sometimes those people do things when they see him in public that he is not fond of.
Here’s what Culkin said you should never do if you run into him.
During an episode of the SmartLess podcast, hosted by fellow actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes, Culkin said that he loves and appreciates his fans, but he doesn’t want to be bothered by them if he’s trying to have dinner with his family.
“Don’t approach me when I’m at the dinner table. I don’t like that,” he stated. “Don’t approach me when I’m with my kids.”
Another thing that Culkin “definitely” doesn’t want fans doing is following him into the bathroom.
The former child star told the hosts that he set those specific rules because he can control most interactions in public places.
“I just realized that I’m in charge of the social contract,” Culkin explained. “I’m in charge of the interaction. I can guide this interaction.”
