‘RHOBH’ Star Bozoma Saint John’s Massive Engagement Cost More Than a House
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Bozoma Saint John announced several months ago that she and her partner, Keely Watson, got engaged. And on the April 9 episode of the Bravo show, fans got to see Keely propose at Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood.
Boz then gushed on the RHOBH After Show when she shared more about the ring her man traveled to the other side of the world for.
Here are all the details on Boz’s huge rock, including how much the sparkler cost.
Boz shares that Keely flew over 8,700 miles to get her the perfect ring
When speaking about her engagement on the After Show, Boz revealed that Weeley traveled all the way to Mumbai, India, to get her ring, saying, “He knows the importance of India to me and jewelry.”
She then pointed to other rings on her fingers and explained, “These two rings that I wear are very significant to me because this ring I bought in India in Jaipur. It was the first ring I bought for myself after I took off my wedding rings.” (Boz was widowed when her first husband, Peter Saint John, died of cancer in 2013).
“The second one, I bought when I went to my friend Priyanka Chopra’s wedding,” she recalled. “The person who made [Priyanka’s] wedding band made me this … I went to the wedding by myself … I was getting all the emotions where I was like, ‘I don’t want to have to wait the rest of my life for somebody to come and give me an eternity band, so I’m going to get one for myself. These rings, this jewelry, and India mean a lot to me.”
How much Boz’s ring is worth
Neil Dutta, Managing Director of the U.K. jewelry retailer Angelic Diamonds, shared several details about the star’s show-stopping engagement ring that cost more than a small house.
Dutta told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Boz’s engagement ring centers on an 8.43 carat diamond set in 18k gold. At that size, the focus is very much on the stone itself, so it makes sense to keep the setting relatively clean and let it do the work. The ring is a custom piece built around a 4.2-carat oval-cut center diamond, with additional diamonds bringing the total carat weight to 8.43. The oval cut is a popular choice for larger stones as it gives good finger coverage and can appear even bigger than its carat weight.
“The use of an 18k gold band keeps the overall look warm and slightly softer than platinum, which works nicely against a colourless diamond. With designs like this, the balance between the center stone and the surrounding diamonds is key. You want the setting to add presence without overwhelming the main diamond.”
Dutta added, “In terms of value, assuming a high-quality center stone, I would estimate the ring to be worth around $315,000. As always, that figure depends on the exact grading, but it’s a realistic guide for a ring of this size and composition. The fact that it was sourced through jewelers in Mumbai adds another layer. That usually points to a more bespoke process, rather than a standard retail piece, which often results in something more considered in how it’s put together.”
