Mariah Carey Continues to Dodge Sensitive Nick Cannon Questions While Promoting New Music
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon share one of the most high-profile co-parenting relationships in entertainment. The former couple, who were married from 2008 to 2016, are parents to twins Monroe and Moroccan, now in their mid-teens. Despite their divorce, Carey and Cannon have maintained a cooperative approach to raising their children. Recently, while promoting her new album, Carey has dodged questions about Cannon left and right. Here’s what’s going on.
Nick Cannon chose to insure his testicles for $10 million — and Mariah Carey never knew
Nick Cannon made headlines when he reportedly took out an insurance policy on his testicles for $10 million, a move that underscores both his sense of humor and his savvy understanding of personal branding. The policy, obtained in 2024, originally started as a joke. However, Cannon went through with it, insuring each testicle for $5 million.
The idea started when Cannon appeared in a commercial for Dr. Squatch, a company that sells natural personal care products. “Now that Dr. Squatch has insured my balls for $10 million, I’ve officially got the most valuable balls in the world,” Cannon says in the clip.
“Dr. Squatch, who is like, they’re known for like manscaping and all that stuff,” Cannon said while speaking on Tea Time With Raven and Miranda. “They were like, ‘Yo, a lot of celebrity women are insuring their legs in case something goes wrong.’ They were like, ‘What’s your most valuable asset?'” He replied, “My balls!”
Cannon noted that he has the official insurance policy in his office. “If I happen to lose one, all the money goes to my kids,” he continued.
Cannon is a father to 12 children with multiple partners, a family that has grown extensively over the past decade. His children range in age from toddlers to teenagers, with some of the most well-known being twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with Mariah Carey.
Mariah Carey recently reacted to learning that Nick Cannon insured his testicles
Mariah Carey is often careful when speaking about her relationship with Nick Cannon. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2016 after eight years, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite their split, the former couple has maintained a cooperative co-parenting dynamic for their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Today, they appear to share mutual respect, often coordinating schedules and attending important events for their children together.
In September 2025, Carey spoke to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. And Cannon’s outrageous insurance policy came up.
“When did this happen?” Carey asked, shocked by the knowledge that Cannon insured his testicles. “He announced this? Lord, help me.”
“Are his balls worth $10 million?” Cohen asked.
“I’ve got to go to the next question,” she answered, laughing.
Fans couldn’t get enough of her response.
“Only Mariah Carey would get away with pleading the fifth and not answering ANY question,” a fan commented with a crying-laughing emoji.
“Mariah is the queen of dodging questions,” another fan noted.
Mariah Carey dodged another question about co-parenting with her ex
In another recent interview with CBS Mornings, Mariah Carey completely swerved around a question regarding how she and Nick Cannon co-parent.
“I kind of feel like it’s best if I don’t talk about him,” Carey said, “because he can just be in his own world. No offense to him.”
In September 2024, Cannon noted that Carey definitely doesn’t “want” him despite whatever rumors may persist. “She’s moved on from my crazy antics,” he told People. Cannon also noted that it must be “madness” to deal with him as a co-parent.
All in all, Carey and Cannon put their kids first — and that’s that.
