‘Married at First Sight’: We Just Got a Big Clue About When Season 19 Will Premiere
Married at First Sight is making moves. The long-running reality show about people who get married moments after meeting at the altar is due to return for its 19th season. But the new episodes won’t air on Lifetime. Instead, the show has found a new home on Peacock. And now, we have a better idea of when Married at First Sight Season 19 will begin airing.
‘Married at First Sight’ Season 19 premieres in late 2025 on Peacock

On May 9, Peacock shared updates about its upcoming unscripted slate. The announcement mostly focused on new shows, including a reality series about Nelly and Ashanti that premieres in June and a new docuseries with Tiffany Haddish, which is set to debut in fall 2025. But there was also some big Married at First Sight news.
While the streamer hasn’t set a premiere date for season 19, it did confirm that fans can expect new episodes in late 2025.
The next MAFS location hasn’t officially been announced. However, it reportedly filmed in Austin, Texas. If so, that the the third time the series has taken place in the Lone Star State. Season 7 filmed in Dallas. Season 13 filmed in Houston.
Are more changes coming to ‘Married at First Sight’?
Will Married at First Sight’s shift to Peacock also mean a shakeup in the show’s format? MAFS has largely remained the same since it premiered on FYI in 2014. (It moved to Lifetime starting with its fifth season.) A trio of experts interview candidates and match couples. The couples then say “I do” without ever meeting in person. They agree to stay married for eight weeks before making a final choice about the future of their relationship on Decision Day.
Over the years, there have been a few minor tweaks to the show. The number of couples matched has expanded, group honeymoons were introduced, and the cast now all live together in the same apartment building during their trial marriages.
So far, Peacock hasn’t shared any details about what to expect from season 19 or whether it will differ in any major way from past seasons. But some fans feel that the show is due for a refresh, especially given that recent seasons have only resulted in a handful of successful matches. Some would like to see fewer group activities and interactions. That would allow each couple more freedom to focus on their own relationships. But the group dynamics often generate the most drama – such as season 18’s infamous partner-swapping situation – so it’s unlikely we’ll see a return of solo honeymoons or the end of the mid-season couples’ retreat. Other viewers have called for new experts after a string of disappointing matches and a pattern of lackluster relationship advice.
There’s also a chance the show could take a cue from one of the international versions of Married at First Sight. For example, in MAFS: Australia, couples have a weekly “commitment ceremony” where they decide whether to continue in the experiment. Another welcome development would be a more diverse cast in terms of age and sexual orientation. So far, the show has only matched heterosexual couples who are mostly in their 20s and 30s. But that could be changing in season 19. According to the MAFSfan Instagram account, the Austin season will feature a couple in their late 50s or early 60s.
