‘Married at First Sight’ Cleans House; Experts Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec Exit Ahead of Season 20
Big changes are coming to Married at First Sight.
The long-running reality series is shedding its trio of experts ahead of its upcoming 20th season. Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec are all exiting the show, which moved from Lifetime to Peacock last year.
‘Married at First Sight’ is ‘embarking on a brand new chapter’

Schwartz has been with MAFS since it premiered in 2014 on FYI. Roberson joined the show in season 4 and Holec signed on in season 15. But starting with season 20, three new experts will be guiding the couples on their relationship journey.
“We’re excited for the future and honored to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal, and Dr. Pia,” Kinetic Content founder and CEO Chris Coelen said in a statement shared on Instagram. “Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight, and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons.”
Variety was first to report the news.

In statements to Variety, all three departing experts said they were thrilled to have had the chance to be part of the Married at First Sight process. MAFS relies on its team of relationship pros to match singles, who then say “I do” after meeting for the first time at the altar. The couples live together during an eight-week trial marriage before deciding whether to stay together for good on Decision Day. While most couples break up, the show has produced a number of lasting marriages, with some couples even going on to start families together.
“Being part of Married at First Sight has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my professional life,” Schwartz said, adding that she was grateful to have had the chance to collaborate on “series that thoughtfully explores modern relationships and marriage.”
Roberson expressed his thanks to all the cast members who’ve participated in Married at First Sight over the past decade.
“I want to thank every single person brave enough to sign up for MAFS,” he said. “You allowed me into some of the most sacred moments of your lives, and I never took that lightly. Your courage, honesty, and willingness to believe in the process reminded me time and again why this work matters. Thank you for trusting us with your love stories.”
Holec said that she “genuinely loved” being part of Married at First Sight “and working alongside franchise OGs turned friends, like Dr. Pepper and Pastor Cal. I’m proud of the time we’ve spent with each person who so bravely took this step in finding love.”
