A baby is on the way for one Married at First Sight couple!

In a first for the long-running reality series, a cast member has become pregnant while still filming the show. The news doesn’t come as a total shock, as Peacock hinted at it in teaser for the new season. But the mom-to-be’s identity was kept under wraps until the November 6 episode drop.

Five couples tied the knot, sight unseen, in the latest installment of Married at First Sight. It’s a season of firsts for the show, which has a new home on Peacock after a long run on Lifetime. The experts matched two older couples this season, creating new challenges when it comes to blending lives and families. And a mother-daughter pair were cast, Jalyn, who married Josh, and her mom Belynda, who married Chad.

And then there’s that big baby news. While several MAFS couples have gone on to have children after Decision Day, so far, no one has announced a pregnancy during the eight-week trial marriage. That all changed in Season 19 Episode 9, when Meghann revealed she’d taken a pregnancy test and that it had come back positive.

The news wasn’t unwelcome, but it was a lot to take in, Meghann admitted, who said that she was “shocked, scared, and happy all at once.”

“We’ve got a lot to talk about now. This changes pretty much everything for us,” Meghann’s husband Derrek said.

“This is gonna make me grind and work hard and do what I can to support you, and I’m committing to doing whatever I can to make you comfortable and happy and feeling good during this whole process,” he added.

So, can Meghann and Derek make it work as parents? We’ll have to wait and see.

Having a baby on the way certainly put the pressure on them to stay married after the eight weeks.

“There’s more reason for us to stay together, like, given the pregnancy,” Derrek said in a teaser for the upcoming episodes.

But Meghann admits that divorce is still on the table.

“Just because we’re pregnant doesn’t mean we have to be together,” she said.

Fans will get more details about Meghann and Derek’s pregnancy and relationship journey – including whether they choose to stay together on Decision Day – in the rest of season 19. Episodes 11 and 12 premiere on Peacock on November 13, followed by the finale and reunion special on November 20.
