‘Married at First Sight’ Teases Baby Bombshell in Season 19 Trailer
Married at First Sight is delivering the drama in season 19.
On Wednesday, Peacock dropped the first trailer for the newest installment of the reality series. The two-minute clip offers a sneak peek at the couples who will tie the knot this season, as well as a hint of the conflicts and twists to come – including a bombshell baby announcement.
Does a ‘Married at First Sight’ Austin get pregnant?
For its 19th season, which is set in Austin, Texas, MAFS is moving from Lifetime to Peacock. The shift means an accelerated release schedule, with multiple episodes dropping in weekly batches between October 23 and November 20.
While the general format for the show remains the same, this season features older couples and multiple divorcées (one has been married three times, while another has adult children). After being matched by the experts, all will face challenges in merging their lives. But things get extra complicated when someone learns she is expecting.
“I’m pregnant,” a woman says in the trailer (via YouTube).
If a cast member does get pregnant during her eight-week trial marriage, it would be a first for Married at First Sight. While several couples matched in past seasons have stayed together and gone on to have children, there’s never been a pre-Decision Day pregnancy announcement.
Will any ‘Married at First Sight’ Season 19 stay together on Decision Day?
The rest of the MAFS Season 19 teaser hints at the show’s usual rollercoaster of relationship drama. Things start out hopeful, as the cast members learn the experts have found them a match.
“I’m about to marry a complete stranger. I’m committing my life to someone I know nothing about,” one woman says. “But I trust the experts to find something that I’m not finding.”
After say “I do,” some are in a honeymoon period.
“We literally just met, but I’m starting to fall in love with you,” one man says.
But will the good vibes last?
“Marriages are just like life,” another participant says. “Everything can be flipped upside down in a day.”
As they head toward Decision Day, some cast members begin to question if their new relationships are meant to be.
“I am realizing that I don’t know anything about this person,” a woman says. “We’re like, I don’t even want to say two separate pages. We’re like in different books.”
Others are frustrated with their partner’s lack of commitment to the process.
“You don’t care. You’re not interested in my life,” one the cast members tells his wife.
“I love you,” another says. “But I’m at the end of the rope with this bullsh*t.”
Will any of this season’s five couples stay together after Decision Day? Find out when Married at First Sight Season 19 premieres October 23 on Peacock. New episodes drop Thursdays through November 20.
