‘Marshals’ Makes Huge Splash as Nearly 10 Million People Tune In to Series Premiere on CBS
CBS is riding high with its new show Marshals.
Nearly 10 million people tuned in on March 1 to watch the series premiere of the highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoff. The show follows Yellowstone’s Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he embarks on a new career as a U.S. Marshal following the death of his wife, Monica.
The Marshals premiere is the most-watched new scripted series premiere without a football lead-in since the 2018 debut of FBI, according to Nielsen data. With 9.52 million viewers, it’s also the No. 1 show of the week. And the people who watched apparently liked what they saw. The show had 99% retention from its first half-hour to the second.
In Marshals Episode 2, “Zone of Death,” Kayce tries to embrace his new beginning as a Marshals op to stop a domestic terror attack lands him in a valley of buried Dutton family skeletons. While confronting his past, he must also learn to ingratiate himself with his new Marshals teammates.
Marshals airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Episodes stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand the next day for Paramount+ Essential subscribers.
