Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Make Rare Joint Appearance at Fashion Week Event
Former tween idols turned style icons Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance at a New York Fashion Week event on Thursday.
The one-time Full House cast members were spotted at a party hosted by W Magazine and Bloomingdale’s at the restaurant Eleven Madison Park on September 11. The twins posed for a photo with W Magazine editor in chief Sara Moonves.
Mary-Kate and Ashley, both 39, embraced coordinating looks for the event. Both wore voluminous printed scarves and parted their long hair down the middle. Ashley donned a black coat and jeans while her sister accessorized with a large black handbag.
The New York Minute stars famously gave up acting in the mid-2000s after a string of popular movies and TV roles. In 2005, they established their fashion brand, The Row, and have been working in the luxury fashion industry ever since.
Though they are business partners, the Olsens don’t often make public appearances together. The last time they were spotted together was at Paris Fashion Week in 2022, according to E! Online. But while they don’t often venture out in public, their partnership is key to their label’s success.
“We like working together and we like having that dialogue. I think it helps harden your ideas to be able to hear them out loud, to speak something through,” Ashley told i-D Magazine in 2021. “You know, we definitely go by intuition and instinct and it can either confirm that feeling, or if we’re both not feeling right about something, for some reason, we just don’t do it. Our instincts are kind of the same. But I think what’s great is that we have each other to lean on.”
