Who Is Meghan King? What to Know About the ‘RHOC’ Alum’s Family and Kids
Meghan King has lost custody of her three kids with ex Jim Edmonds.
A decision was made to remove the children from the custody of The Real Housewives of Orange County alum following an investigation by Child Protective Services that was triggered by a call from a school employee, Us Weekly reported. The Bravo star has been granted supervised visitation, while Edmonds has sole physical custody.
The current custody arrangement is temporary until a hearing can held to determine whether it will become permanent, a source said.
Meghan King appeared on ‘RHOC’ for three seasons
King appeared on RHOC Seasons 10-12. She also made guest appearances in seasons 9 and 14.
During her time on the Bravo show, King opened up about being a stepmom to Edmonds’ kids from a previous relationship, as well as her fertility struggles and IVF journey. She also clashed with fellow cast member Vicki Gunvalson. Gunvalson criticized King’s marriage to Edmonds, while King called out Gunvalson’s then-boyfriend Brooke Ayers’ questionable cancer claims.
Who is Meghan King’s ex Jim Edmonds?
King was married to Jim Edmonds from 2014 to 2019. He is a former MLB player whose career included stints with the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, and other teams.
After he retired from professional baseball, Edmonds worked as a commentator for Fox Sports Midwest.
Following his divorce from King, Edmonds went on to marry Kortnie O’Connor (now Kortnie Edmonds) in 2022. In September, Kortnie called police after she says King entered her home without her permission. King has said that she was at the house to drop off some items for her daughter and that she never went inside. After the incident, the two reached a consent order where both agreed not to come within 150 yards of each other; King also agreed not to speak about her ex’s new wife on social media.
After her split from Edmonds, King was briefly married to Joe Biden’s nephew Cuffe Biden Owens. The pair said “I do” after just a few weeks of dating and later had the marriage annulled.
‘RHOC’ alum has three kids with with her former husband
Before their divorce, King and Edmonds had three children. Their daughter Aspen, 8, was born in November 2016. Their 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes, were born in June 2018.
Hart has cerebral palsy and is also neurodivergent. In a 2024 interview with Us Weekly, King said that managing her son’s various diagnoses could be a challenge.
“[L]ike a lot of other parents with children in this category, it can be really trying to find your way through the weeds to figure out what’s going on with your kid and finding a diagnosis in order to be able to articulate his needs better so we can provide the access to [his] needs,” she said.
“These mental diagnoses are becoming more prevalent among children,” she added. “By talking about it with the world, I’m helping to break a stigma by talking about our children.”
Meghan King has famous siblings
King is not the only person in her family in the public eye.
Her sister Caitlin King is a vet tech who appeared on The Amazing Race Season 21, according to Bravo’s Daily Dish.
Meghan’s other sister, Julie King, is a former pro soccer player who spent most of her career with the Boston Breakers.
Their brother, RJ King, is a model. He’s appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia and worked with brands such as Prada and Tommy Hilfiger. He also appeared in an episode of Catfish: The TV Show when someone used his photo to lure another person into a relationship.
