Is Meghan Markle in legal hot water? A disgruntled fan is threatening to sue the Duchess of Sussex over what she claims is a dangerous recipe for homemade bath salts. 

Robin Patrick says that Meghan’s bath salt concoction – which was featured in her Netflix series With Love, Meghan – should have come with a warning that it’s not appropriate for people with diabetes. Patrick tried the recipe, which resulted in “catastrophic burns” that caused “significant pain and cosmetic distress,” according to a report from RadarOnline.com. Now, she’s hinting she might sue the former Suits star for $10 million.

Meghan’s recipe for bath salts calls for a mixture of Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, amica oil, and lavender oil. Patrick claims that the royal should have known the DIY spa treatment was risky and that she should have included a warning that the essential oils needed to be diluted. 

In a legal letter, Patrick requested $75,000 to cover medical expenses but additional compensation for pain and suffering and future expenses. She also says she’s considering a multi-million dollar suit against Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions for their “reckless disregard for public safety and to deter similar conduct in the future.” 

Meghan’s lawyer brushed off Patrick’s claims, saying that she should have paid attention to the warning on the Epsom salt packaging. 

Experts previously warned people about trying the bath salts recipe.  On her YouTube channel Simple Beauty with Jennifer, esthetician Jennifer Christopherson explained that “there MAY be the potential for skin irritations if you use an essential oil on its own without using ‘carrier oils.’”

“Essential oils are volatile plant compounds that may have the potential to irritate people’s skin, especially those who are particularly sensitive!” she added. “Meghan MAY have used an essential oil MIXED with a carrier oil, BUT she does NOT clarify this.”
