Meghan Markle’s Silence Amid Tyler Perry Scandal Is ‘Not a Good Look,’ Experts Say

 Meghan Markle has previously gushed about her friendship with Tyler Perry. She shared that after the star reached out to her following her wedding to Prince Harry, she turned to him for support and he became one of her confidants.

When the Sussexes moved to California, Perry even offered up his mansion as a “safe” place for them to stay. They have gotten so close that the duke and duchess asked Perry to be the godfather of their daughter, Princess Lilibet.

But now with Perry being accused of sexual assault and harassment by The Oval actor Derek Dixon, people have noticed that Meghan has been completely silent and her silence “isn’t a good look,” according to experts.

A royal expert says Meghan and Prince Harry’s silence on Perry is deafening

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich weighed in about not just Meghan, who had been vocal about her friendship with Perry, but also Prince Harry for not saying a word since the allegations against their pal made news.

Fordwich told Fox News Digital: “Instead of offering their stalwart support as good friends would who even lived in his home, this silence is a clear demonstration of … a total lack of moral courage. Their silence to avoid entanglement in a scandal, especially given their precarious standing in both Hollywood and royal circles, won’t look good in the long run.”

She continued: “Harry and Meghan are in a lose-lose situation. Keeping their distance has backfired either way. If Tyler Perry is exonerated, their lack of support will be seen as a betrayal, further damaging their credibility among friends and potential allies alike. If allegations against Tyler Perry are proven, distancing themselves to protect their brand will still appear opportunistic and ungrateful.”

To Di For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield, who has worked with Perry in the past, also talked to the outlet about Meghan and Harry not speaking up at this time.

She pointed out that “Tyler Perry put himself out there and was one of the few A-listers who fiercely defended the Sussexes. To quote Prince Harry from his January 2023 interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes, ‘Silence is betrayal.’ I imagine Tyler Perry would appreciate any backup at this point.

“In the court of public opinion, agents and publicists often rally influential celebrities to throw their support behind the accused in order to sway both media narratives and public sentiment. It doesn’t matter whether you’re guilty or not. With the right spin, you can continue to work after the fallout … If Harry and Meghan chose to get involved and support Tyler, it could encourage other public figures to follow suit. I’m not saying it’s right, but it’s how the system works.”

Scholfield then shared: “I’ve worked with Tyler Perry. He struck me as kind. I hope these accusations aren’t true — not just for the sake of my own memories of Tyler, but for Harry and Meghan’s daughter, Lili, his goddaughter.”

Perry’s attorney has called the accusations against his client ‘a scam’

Dixon is suing Perry for sexual assault and harassment, and seeking $260 million in damages.

The Madea creator’s attorney has publicly denied the allegations, calling them “a scam.”

“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,” Perry’s lawyer Matthew Boyd said in a statement, adding, “But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
