Michael Jackson once attended one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ infamous parties because he heard Beyoncé was there. According to Jackson’s former bodyguard, Matt Fiddes, the pop star loved Beyoncé. He wanted to be around her at every opportunity. This led them, at least briefly, to one of Diddy’s parties.

Michael Jackson was in love with Beyoncé, said his former bodyguard

Jackson’s bodyguard said that the pop star adored Princess Diana and Beyoncé. According to Fiddes, Jackson spoke with Diana on the phone often, and tried to be close to Beyoncé whenever he could.

“Whenever he was asked to be given an award, he would always say, ‘Well, if Beyoncé gives it, then it’s okay,’” he told The Art of Dialogue. “And if we heard she was at a party, we would turn up. In the hope that he would catch her, you know?”

He admitted that this led them to one of Combs’ now-infamous parties.

“It’s kind of, like, hard to say now, but we went to a Puff Daddy party, right? But not a Puff Daddy party like a Puffy party that people hearing this are going to think. We were there five minutes.”

He said that they hadn’t told anyone they were going to attend. When they heard Beyoncé was there, though, Jackson wanted to go.

“We came in. He sat down next to P. Diddy. And he said, ‘Is Beyoncé here?’” Fiddes recalled. “He said, ‘Oh, she’s just left five minutes ago.’”

The moment that Jackson realized Beyoncé wasn’t there, he told his bodyguards he was ready to leave. Fiddes said they didn’t see any “shady stuff” going on while they were there.
