On July 8, Mindy revealed on her Instagram that Steve had popped the question and the two were now engaged.

“The answer is obviously yes,” she captioned a carousel of photos from Steve’s romantic proposal.

Steve and Mindy connected after both dealt with disappointing experiences on their respective seasons of the Lifetime reality show.

Mindy married Zach Justice during MAFS Season 10. But Zach’s lack of attraction — plus his secret conversations with one of her friends — led them to split on Decision Day. Steve was matched with Noi Phommasak during the show’s 14th season. They had a strong connection and agreed to stay married on Decision Day, despite concerns over communication and finances. But they split soon after their season aired

In early 2023, Steve and Mindy sparked dating rumors. Eventually, they went public with their relationship.

Mindy and Steve’s engagement drew cheers from several MAFS alums, including Chris Collette from Steve’s Boston season, Shaquille Dillon from MAFS Nashville, and Lindy Elloway and Alexis Grace from the show’s San Diego season. Even Married at First Sight expert Pastor Cal Robertson approves of their romance.

“So happy for you guys!” he commented on a June photo of the couple Mindy shared on Instagram

Mindy and Steve are the first cross-season ‘MAFS’ couple

Mindy and Steve are the first cross-season couple in Married at First Sight history. But they’re not the only surprising pair to emerge from the show, which premiered in 2013 and wrapped up its 18th season earlier this year.

In 2022, former MAFS expert Dr. Jessica Griffin married Jon Francetic, a cast member from the first Boston season. Jon’s marriage to Molly Duff was a major bust during that season. Jessica counseled the dysfunctional couple before they decided to split ahead of Decision Day. After filming ended and Jon and Molly divorced, he and Jessica went public with their romance, raising the eyebrows of some viewers.

Married at First Sight Season 18 also produced a surprising couple. The experts originally paired David Trimble with Michelle Tomblin. Michelle was obviously disappointed in her match, making it clear to her husband. David bonded with fellow cast member Madison Myers, who wasn’t feeling much of an attraction to her husband, Allen Slovik. That friendship eventually turned romantic, and an errant text message led to the exposure of a cheating scandal. But despite their messy beginning, David and Madison’s connection appears to be genuine. They are still together today.

“I hope that everyone gets to find a love so gentle and secure,” Madison wrote in a May 2025 Instagram post alongside a photo of her and David kissing. “Never thought I would find mine and amidst all the craziness we chose each other and choose each other every day. I love you so much.”

Past seasons of Married at First Sight are streaming on Netflix and Hulu.
